[Gansu province] Falun Dafa has the support of the people

In one city, the material about Falun Dafa are being delivered to people by various means. A resident saw one in her mailbox, and after reading it through carefully, talked to one practitioner: "How come I didn't think carefully before? Just like what's said in the flyer, the book "Zhuan Falun" is only 12 Yuan, but the book slandering Falun Gong charges over 40 Yuan. It's obvious who is collecting money. Please print more flyers, I'd like to distribute some for you." The practitioner felt happy for her and asked: "Are you afraid of being arrested and sentenced to jail?" She replied: "No, I have not committed any harmful deeds." Later, she indeed sent out some flyers for us.

A woman received a Dafa flyer and found the content quite reasonable. She passed it to her husband who is a Communist Party member. After reading for a while he murmured: "Maybe Falun Gong is right!"

An old man on the bus was given a flyer by a practitioner. After reading the title, he laughed: "Good! Hey, how can Falun Gong frighten Jiang Zemin to such extent?" He also showed his care about the safety of the practitioner.

[Hunan Province] Dafa practitioners validate Dafa and disclose the evil deeds

The practitioners in the countryside of Hunan province cut short their living expenses in order to raise money for printing Dafa material. They sealed the material in envelopes or packed them with red papers, then gave them out at bus stations or along the streets. Some people read loudly after opening the packet: "Falun Dafa ", some are anxious to get one of these red packets.

One work unit in Changsha (city) hung up a banner between two buildings to attack Dafa, which reads "Severely crackdown on the illegal activities". One night at the end of October, several practitioners posted over one hundred flyers of "Jiang Zemin can't shirk the historical responsibility" near the buildings. They then drew down the banner with a rope and took it away.

In mid October, all customers at the downtown Xinhua bookstore of one city could see the Dafa material in every new book. Later, the bookstore was forced by the evil force to close down and clean up the books.

On the night of Nov. 15, when some practitioners in a city spread the flyers "Jiang Zemin can not shirk the historical responsibility", they found a report about the just attitude of Premier Zhu and Qiao Shi towards Falun Gong had already been posted everywhere. They were greatly encouraged. Meanwhile, great numbers of red packets (these served as presents in China when packed with red papers) with Falun Dafa material inside appeared in the buses of this city. Many people got to know the true facts about Falun Gong from this. One practitioner was told by his colleague: "I got the red packet from Falun Gong. The XX Party has been corrupted to the extreme, the society needs Falun Gong."

The practitioners of a remote northern region in Hunan province didn't received Teacher's scriptures published this year until mid October. Some practitioners brought them more than 200 copies of these articles and the newly published books. It helped the practitioners there to quickly realize the current situation and many of them stepped forward to validate Dafa in Beijing.

The director of a university's security department sighed after reading the factual material given to him by a practitioner: "We are finished!" And also the director of this city's security bureau expressed the same feelings to this practitioner: "Evidently, we will be finished for sure!"

[Xinjiang province] Dafa materials appear widely in streets and lanes

In a district of Xinjiang Province, Falun Gong flyers appeared in almost everybody's houses overnight. The leaders of the security bureau personally ordered an investigation into this matter. The police summoned two practitioners and forced them to hand over the flyers, claiming that they were seen distributing flyers. In the next few days, large numbers of flyers revealing the evil deeds conducted by Jiang Zemin on Dafa practitioners appeared again in this region for the third time. Some were handed out and some were posted. The Party committee called an emergency meeting and decided to arrest all the practitioners. But the practitioners were filled with the awe-inspiring righteousness and were not scared at all. Consequently, the police didn't take action because they lacked sufficient evidence. The local government announced an award through the propaganda: whoever reports a practitioner spreading the flyers will be rewarded 1000 Yuan. One month has passed, yet nobody has responded to this evil call.

at another region of Xinjiang province, Dafa materials were spread everywhere overnight. The police could do nothing but to illegally break into the house of a farmer (the parent of a Dafa practitioner) at midnight. The house was ransacked but nothing was found. This devastated the farmer mentally, who is over 60 years old, and he has been panic-stricken for many days. Later, they forced open the door of another practitioner's sister and searched all over the house.

[Sichuan province] Practitioners Step forward to tell the truth.

after reading teacher's "Serious teachings", most practitioners in a district of Sichuan province have awaken and stepped forward one after another. Currently about thirteen thousand copies of material have been handed out to disclose the evil deeds. We clarify the truth with wisdom while doing this and none of us was discovered by the evil. Although the police are intensely searching these days, we continue to spread and validate Dafa every day. The practitioners encourage each other and share experiences. When the security lessens their watch, we will hold a large Fa spreading activity to assist Teacher's rectification of Fa.

[China] Practitioners arrested at Tiananmen Square been on hunger strike for 10 days.

According to reliable sources, on October 26, more than one hundred Falun Dafa practitioners were taken by force to Beijing Xicheng District Detention Center by the police when they were appealing peacefully at Tiananmen Square. Some of them were forced to tell their names and then were taken back by their local police. Some resisted cooperating with the illegal actions of the police, and they refused to give their names and addresses and requested an immediate release.

According to practitioners, those who did not give their names were harshly beaten and were forcefully stripped and searched. Then they were handcuffed with shackles. Their hands and feet were chained together and they could not stand up. If they still refused to give their names, they would be put into cells that had been deliberately arranged by the police in advance where the prisoners were instructed to beat the practitioners. Since the police were responsible for this, the prisoners were fearless and used all kinds of extreme means to torture the practitioners. That night, the sound of beatings, screaming, and bumping against the wall resonated in the hallway. But the police turned a deaf ear and blind eye to all of this. Even the prisoners complained and said: "What despicable creatures the police are!" When the practitioners kindly advised the prisoners not to act as the accomplices, they said: "We know you practitioners are treated unfairly." Now some of the practitioners had been on hunger strikes for more than ten days. Every day, they had to suffer from the agony of the hunger strike, and also had to face the brutal beatings, insults and the rough and inhuman forced feedings. Some practitioners have fainted and their lives are in danger. The brutal actions are still continuing. We call on the international community and people all over the world to extend their concerns to stop these brutal actions going on in Beijing Xicheng District Detention Center, and to have the practitioners released.

[Urumqi, Xinjiang Province] Training officials to crackdown on Falun Dafa.

Last week, the security officials of all working units in Urumqi had a 5-day concentrated training specifically for the crackdown on Falun Gong. According to another inside source from the Xinjiang Police Bureau, the police are planning a new round of persecution of Falun Gong.

Zhang Feng, male, 32 years old, a teacher from the Xinjiang Electronic Engineering Institute, went to Beijing Tiananmen Square to appeal on October 23, 2000. It is said that he has been sent back. His situation is currently unknown.

Practitioner Lu Yingchun was arrested for distributing material about Falun Dafa. He is still in custody, and his family is not allowed to visit him. It is said that he has been sentenced to labor camp. Another practitioner Wang Fangfang (pesudonym), 17 year old, who distributed the material together with Lu Yingchun, was also arrested and was released after being tortured for three months.

Cheng Hongwan and Zhang Jing, a couple, who live in the Kaite resident complex in Urumqi have been arrested three times. The first time, 10,000 Yuan was extorted by the police. The second time, they were deceived into coming out to Nanshan under the pretext of attending the "transformation class" and were detained for more than ten days. They were again forced to pay 5,000 Yuan. In early September, they were taken away for the third time, and the police also swept away their bank deposit certificate, cash, and their house deed.

Recently, six female practitioners from the Hunan Television Company went to Beijing to appeal. They were forcefully stripped, body-searched by two female policemen led by Xu Haimiao, the chief of Security Section of Hunan Television Company, their belongings were taken.

[Xi'an, Shanxi Province] Xing Wenzhen, an associate professor, sentenced to labor camp .

Many practitioners have been arrested since October. However, practitioners are as firm as before no matter what the circumstance or condition. The male practitioners sentenced to labor camp are detained illegally in Fengxiang County, Baoji City. More than one hundred female practitioners are illegally detained in Shanxi Women's Prison in the north suburb of Xi'an City.

Xing Wenzhen, 60 years old, an associate professor from Department of Airplane, Northwest Industrial University was sentenced to labor camp for three years.

[Shenyang, Liaonong province] 123 practitioners arrested National Day.

According to reliable sources, 123 practitioners were taken back to Shenyang from Beijing when they safeguarded Dafa during the National Day celebraion, including 41 male practitioners and 82 female practitioners. All the practitioners were first sent to Longshan Labor Camp.. Some were sentenced to 2 to 3 years in jail, and they were sent to Masanjia Labor Camp and Yinjia Labor Camp in Shenyang. Presently, Longshan Labor Camp has sealed off the flow of information. There is no communication between the inside and the outside, and family members are not allowed to visit. They treated the practitioners at will, without abiding by judicial procedures and without informing the family members either.

[Laixi, Shandong Province] Police go their own way to persecute Dafa practitioners

At 7PM on Oct. 31, Laixi policemen rushed into former director of assistance center Wu Xiuxin's home. They took out "search certificate", "frisk certificate" and "summons certificate" and took away the practitioner. After that, seven to eight policemen searched her home thoroughly; they took away everything related to Dafa including a tape recorder.

On the same evening, the head of Political and Security Section led a group of policemen who rushed into practitioner Wu Jianfang's home. They took out their "three certificates", handcuffed her and took her away; they also ransacked her home. Two practitioners Jiang Hua and Li Qun, who just happened to visit her that day, were also handcuffed and taken away. They confiscated Jiang Hua's computer in his dormitory the next day. They are still incarcerated and being interrogated in Political and Security Section of Laixi Police Station.

In the middle of September, Laixi practitioner Wang Guoli suddenly disappeared when police were arresting practitioners to send to labor camps. To get information of Wang's whereabouts, Wang Guoli's father, sisters and working unit were often harassed, tracked, and monitored by policemen since September 13. His elder sister (non-practitioner) was called to the police station for questioning. She was told that she would be arrested if she did not give up her brother by October 1 and was also forced to pay 5,000 Yuan bail.

[Shenzhou, Hebei Province] "Transformation class" held Dafa practitioners

The "transformation class" at the former site of Shenzhou Sanitation Bureau is holding nine Dafa practitioners, two males and seven females. Among them, there are two students who just graduated from high school, one employee, and six peasants. The oldest person is a 65-year-old lady from the countryside. All of them have been illegally held for more than 10 months.

[Huachuan, Heilongjiang Province] Hiring people to monitor Dafa practitioners

The Jiangchuan Farm of Huachuan County hired workers from other places to monitor Dafa practitioners during the nights (monthly pay is 600 Yuan).

Practitioner Duan Youxiang is thought to be a Dafa material distributor by these workers without any proof. Local policeman took her to Hongxinglong detention center in Youyi County without any legal procedure.

[Xinjiang Province] Several die of previous diseases after stopping their practice

There were four former Falun Gong practitioners in a certain Xinjiang corp. These practitioners were very sick before they practiced Dafa; two of them had serious hepatitis, one had tuberculosis; another one had high blood pressure. After practicing Falun Dafa, their diseases were cured, miraculously. After July 22, they were forced to give up Dafa after being threatened by their vice division commander, and thus they lost their precious cultivation opportunities. Several months later, they died of their previous diseases one after another.

[Xinjiang Province] Persecuting Dafa practitioners is planting evil seeds for oneself.

A vice division commander of a certain corps in Xinjiang has been threatening and persecuting Dafa practitioners vigorously. He forced four practitioners who gained their new lives from Dafa to give up cultivation which later lead to their deaths. Recently, this vice division commander suffered a strange disease; he got a severe aching in his bones. Diagnostic results from big hospitals in Beijing and Shanghai were all different. Every time the illness becomes serious, he couldn't help screaming out. Later, he turned to fortune-tellers and resorted to burning papers many times; these means are deemed superstitious by authorities. Still, there are no signs of recovering. This is what people say, "Good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil".

There used to be more than twenty primary school teachers cultivating Falun Dafa in a certain area in Xinjiang. After July 22, some of them gave up cultivation due to pressure, and the rest are still cultivating persistently under pressure. Three teachers were sent to mental hospital because of validating Dafa, and their minds and bodies were devastated. They were even deprived of their teaching jobs. One leader of the Education center took part in those persecution activities actively. What surprised people is that his mother-in-law, uncle and sister-in-law died successively from September to October. Could all this be a coincidence?
