More News From the Sydney Consulate

On Dec. 2 at 4:00 in the afternoon, two female Falun Gong practitioners went to the Chinese Consulate in Sydney to display a banner reading "More Than 90 Falun Gong Practitioners Have Been Persecuted to Death. Jiang Zemin Is Going to Be Tried by History" along with several posters showing the brutality of the crackdown on Falun Gong.

Suddenly a handful of people came out of the consulate. As they approached, one of them told the practitioners to move because they were about to water the lawn. One practitioner said, "We can move to accommodate you, but please be careful when you water near us. We don't mind at all."

At that time, the group from the consulate began waving their hands and shouting, "Get out of here! Get out! Move all of your things and tear down your banners!" One practitioner said, "We are standing on the territory of Australia. Our banner has been hanging here for over a year. We have permission to hang banners here. Why should we have to move?"

The people from the consulate said, " You are dishonoring the Chinese government." One practitioner said, " The people who have really dishonored the Chinese government are you guys. The consulate is the external image of China. Your ridiculous behavior is truly a disgrace to China."

During the talk, the worker who was hosing down the concrete floor inside the consulate had soaked the leg of a practitioner who was standing outside. A westerner who was passing saw this scene and told the practitioners, " You don't need say anything. Let them show their true nature!"

One consulate worker saw female practitioners wearing T-shirts that said "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong". He growled at them telling them to take them off. Another consulate staff member pointed to the banner and said, "All these 90 people deserved to be beaten to death." A third one said, "Don't you practice Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance? Why don't you just tolerate it?"

One female practitioner said, "If your parents had been beaten to death, what would you do for them? You really don't have any humanity in your mind. Teacher Li told us, "It is a Xinxing issue if you do not help to stop a murder or arson when you see it. How will you otherwise demonstrate that you are a good person?""

The behavior of these consulate officers was so angry and disgraceful that a little girl who was standing with a female practitioner was stunned by it.

That night, there was a candlelight vigil in memory of Zhao Xin, a practitioner who was tortured to death in China, and a demonstration about the policemen in Macao who beat Australian Falun Gong practitioners. Almost 100 practitioners joined this candlelight vigil. One consulate officer told the police the very obvious lie that two women yelled at 6 or 7 male consulate officers. This is another example of using all means to slander Falun Gong, just like Chinese government does in China. As the saying goes, fruit never falls far from the tree.
