Chinese Ambassador Li Zhaoxing Sends Letters to American Congressmen Slandering Falun Gong

Li Zhaoxing, the Chinese ambassador to the U.S., has always joined ranks with Jiang Zemin in his attempt to suppress Falun Gong. Li does so in order to disguise his corruption. In public and in private he has given a lot of disgusting performances in the United States. The latest came on December 12, 2000, when this ambassador blind with greed came out again to defame Falun Gong. In a letter to American Congressmen he claims that Falun Gong misleads the American people and government officials at all levels, including United States Congressmen. To give credence to his lies, he trotted out the notorious and discredited rumor spread by Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan that Falun Gong has caused 1600 deaths (invented by these two for the sole purpose of slandering Falun Gong and its founder). Does this corrupt official really believe that the American people and government officials are incapable of recognizing the truth? We wonder whether he has carefully considered the risks of following so closely behind the murderer Jiang Zemin. If he continues to do so, can he count on having the chance to collect his winnings at the gaming table? Does he understand what black marks his lies about Falun Gong leave on his soul?

Events show that Americans do know the truth. Recently, endorsements and proclamations of support from American governments and officials in different places and at various levels keep pouring in. In November, 1999 the United States House of Representatives passed a resolution urging the Chinese government to end the persecution, and several congressmen and women since then have renewed their support for Falun Gong. More and more, all levels of society are coming to know the truth about Falun Gong. Not long ago, the Illinois state government rejected the request made by a special envoy sent by Li Zhaoxing for an apology and a withdrawal of awards, and both the envoy and the ambassador were called "shameless." Ever greater numbers of people enthusiastically learn and support Falun Gong. Since greater numbers of American people know, or are willing to know, the truth about Falun Gong, how can they be cheated one by one?

In his letter to the U.S. Congressmen, we can see Li Zhaoxing using Jiang Zemin's most basic tactic: the spreading of lies. Whether he did so due to Jiang Zemin's pressure or out of his own free will does not matter. In either case, this letter fits exactly into Jiang Zemin's understanding of things. Americans need to understand one question. Do Li Zhaoxing and Jiang Zemin seek for the United States the kind of "stable society" that lets the American government control the American people's mind? If so, I have a modest proposal for these gentlemen. It would be more open and straightforward for them simply to send the Chinese Public Security troops and Military Police to the White House and Capital Hill. Then the name of the White House should be changed into Zhong Nan Hai (Middle South Sea, residence of Jiang Zemin and other top Chinese leaders) and the name of U.S. Congress into the Chinese "National People's Congress."
