May 13, 2000. Denmark enjoyed brilliant weather with bright sunshine and a clear sky.
Practitioners in Denmark met at the park Longens Haven located in downtown Copenhagen, where we have been consistently doing the exercises for over a year, to celebrate the First World Falun Dafa Day. Some practitioners wore yellow T-shirts that were printed with "Zhen-Shan-Ren" and "Falun Dafa" and some others put on holiday costumes symbolic of Chinese tradition to congratulate and celebrate World Falun Dafa Day and to wish a happy birthday to our beloved Teacher.
Beginning at 10:00AM, we practiced the exercises the same way as we usually do on the weekends. The reporters from one of the major newspapers in Denmark, the Politiken, interviewed us. The next day, this newspaper gave a positive report on the event with a large color picture of the celebration scene on its front page.
In the afternoon, we went to Axeltorv Square in downtown to continue our celebration activities. We erected a large sign of "World Falun Dafa Day", set up various posters of worldwide Falun Dafa activities, put up yellow flags, and placed various introductory material and books of Falun Dafa on the table for visitors to pick up. Accompanied by the beautiful music and the directions of Teacher from an exercise music tape, we demonstrated the peaceful and harmonious exercise movements of Falun Gong to the people passing by. At times, many passerbies stopped to watch our demonstration.
The Falun Dafa celebration and promotion ended at 3:00PM.
Most native Danish practitioners obtained Falun Dafa and started practicing it after April 25, 1999. Their cultivation was initiated in such a special historical period of time, which rendered their cultivation process tightly connected to promoting and safeguarding Falun Dafa as soon as it commenced. During the rough times for Falun Gong in the past year, they have taken it more and more as an unshirkable responsibility of theirs to introduce Falun Dafa to the world and clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to the public. Through their practice of Falun Dafa, they have been becoming stronger and maturer as time goes by.
