The University of Arkansas Recommends Falun Gong in Its Daily Headlines

[Fayetteville, AR. January 5, 2001] Today, the University of Arkansas recommended Falun Gong to its faculty, staff and students throughout the campus in its Daily Headlines, as an alternative to help them relieve stress and improve their physical and mental health. The Daily Headlines is an email based news bulletin, created by the University and delivered to the faculty, staff and students on campus once a day. When contacted by local practitioners, the editor of the Daily Headlines had remarked, "I have read the introduction of Falun Gong. It seems to be quite intriguing."

Earlier, the Comparative Literature Program of the University had invited local practitioners to give a Falun Gong seminar, in order to help students better understand the quintessence of Buddhism and Taoism.

Since Falun Dafa was introduced to northwest Arkansas in May 1999, four local newspapers have carried positive reports of Falun Dafa. They are the two major newspapers, Northwest Arkansas Times and The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas, and the Ozark Gazette and Dance of the Soul. Positive reports were also carried by one local radio station (KUAF), as well as a TV station (Fayetteville Community Access Television), which conducted a 40 minute interview with local practitioners and repeatedly broadcast it for some time afterward. More and more Americans are becoming familiar with Falun Dafa as it is gradually disseminated in the United States.
