On December 25th, Christmas morning, police cars were assembled completely around Beijing's Tiananmen Square. Hundreds of policemen and hired roughnecks were scrutinizing every visitor that passed by. At 9:00AM, near the flagpole of the square, a resounding voice calling out "Falun Dafa is good!" was heard. It sounded as though it could eliminate all the evilness completely. Then the hired roughnecks and the policemen attacked a yellow banner with red characters that had been suddenly unfurled before the visitors. Despite the severe and frenzied beating and kicking that was happening to them, Falun Dafa practitioners continued shouting resoundingly: "Falun Dafa is good".
What type of person allows the police to beat up Falun Gong practitioners so viciously and inhumanly while the world is watching and under the national flag of China? Seeing the violence, some people in the crowd criticized it, some were indifferent, and some watched silently with indignation... In order to let people see the banners for a longer period of time, practitioners tried to protect their banners with their bodies. The assembled police cars rushed towards the practitioners without regard for the safety of the crowd. Not very far away, another resounding voice calling out, "Falun Dafa is good!" was heard and another colorful banner was unfurled. One round after another, the practitioners continued, allowing no chance for these the vicious authorities to take a break.
At around 10AM, the crowd suddenly moved towards one place. I followed the crowd and saw the most agonizing scene. Five or six policemen were ruthlessly beating a man in his 50's. In order not to be easily taken away by the police, he did all he could to struggle against them. The vicious police hit and kicked him fiercely and dragged him into a police car. He refused to give in to the evil. He jumped out of the car and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is innocent!" In order not to be easily caught by the police again, the man struggled and rolled on the ground, so that the vicious policemen could not get close to him. His mouth was bleeding and his pants were torn. The inhuman police were shocked and no one dared to approach him. The exhausted practitioner was finally dragged into a police car. At the same time, a female practitioner also refused to give in. Although she was beaten and knocked to the ground, she shouted continuously, "Falun Dafa is good!"
Tears came down the faces of some people in the crowd. The extraordinary and benevolent deeds of the practitioners awakened the conscience of every kind-hearted person at the scene. In contrast to the selfless and fearless practitioners who demonstrated great benevolence and forbearance, people eventually saw clearly what was the real evil! In the darkness before dawn breaks, our beloved fellow practitioners! You have safeguarded the great Buddha Law with your lives. You have exposed the evil and lies! We shall never give in to any evil forces. We must eliminate the last remaining evils with our great benevolence and forbearance, and assist our Teacher to rectify the Fa in this human world.
