My name is Wang Xingying, an employee of Shandong Province Sanhuan Lock Manufactory Corp. I live at 77-10, No. 4 Culture Street, Zifu District, Yantai City, Shandong Province. Because I went to Beijing to appeal, and I refused to renounce Dafa, the local police substation told my family that I would be sentenced to forced labor for three years. My company wanted to lay me off. They threatened as well that my son in the army would also be implicated. My family couldn't bear these threats; they and my company sent me to the mental hospital.

On March 2, 2000, my company and my husband sent me to Yantai Metal Healing Center at Laiyang City (local residents call it Laiyang Mental Hospital) after my company detained me for many days. At the start of this illegal detention, my company took me by company car from the South Street Police Station to Laiyang Mental Hospital for a check-up. I had no abnormalities, of course.

The hospital has many sections, which detained several dozen Dafa practitioners from places like Zifu District and Laiyang City. I stayed in No. 2 ward. Beginning on the second day of my abduction, the staff tied me to the bed and forced one IV injection and two needle injections in me every day. I received a total of 20 bottles of IV injection and 40 needle injections. Everyday I have to take twelve pills, I suspect ten were sleeping pills, and I did not know what the other two were. The doctor would not tell me either. Two nurses would watch me take the pills; they told me to protrude my tongue to verify I had put the pills in my mouth, and to protrude my tongue again afterwards to verify I had swallowed them. At that time, there were six Dafa practitioners held captive like me in ward No. 2. I learned from them that other practitioners had been detained here before me. I believe that more were held there after I left.

At one point Dafa practitioners (only Dafa practitioners) were restrained and shocked on our heads with electric needles. If we practiced the exercises, we would be tied to our beds. Staff then separated us practitioners one by one, not allowing us to get together, not even to talk. Each practitioner was kept in separate rooms, but each with mentally ill patients in the same room watching us, to report to the doctor and prevent us from doing our exercises. When I recited Lun Yu, the roommates came forward and hit me. We hid in the bathroom to practice; they beat us when they found out. After the beatings, I could not eat; my whole body felt fatigued; both legs bent crookedly and could not be put straight; my upper eyelids drooped so my eyes only opened halfway; my jaw lost muscle strength so I could only close my mouth halfway; and my bowels became constipation. The worst part was I couldn't sleep because my feet jerked uncontrollably; sitting and standing were very hard, and my legs would always shake me off my feet. Even so, I wanted to get up and sit on the bed; the nurse forbade me, for fear I would get up and practice the exercises. I had to cover myself with clothes, crouch my body, kneel on the bed, and sit on my legs. Only in this way was I able to control the twitching.

On March 30, when my husband came to pick me up, the director would not release me; he said I had "not met the results originally wanted and needed to remain there for another half-month." My husband insisted on taking me home, seeing my tortured and badly emaciated body. Despite my condition, the director still required my husband to buy 5 bottles of sleeping pills to force me to take at home. Four days after I got home, the skin on my whole body turned yellow, my eyes became yellow-greenish, and I vomited. The emergency examination at the hospital showed my liver seriously poisoned by all the drugs inflicted on me. My ammonium transferase level was 40 times higher than the normal level I had before imprisonment in the mental hospital. When my fellow practitioners finally saw me, they were all shocked. The staff of the mental hospital caused severe damage to me: my eyes stared blankly, my eyelids could not open fully, my chin sagged, and much hair was lost. I was no longer the healthy person they kidnapped into the "Healing Center."

I was not the only one severely tortured in that ward we stayed in. The charge nurse for the No. 2 ward said, "It wouldn't be a serious matter if one or two of you died." In other wards, practicing the exercises was allowed, she noted, but said that because we practitioners tried to gather together, in her ward we had to be isolated individually. Therefore, in our ward, we could not even talk, much less share experiences. While held there, we could not get around casually, we had no freedom; everyday staff forced injections and medications on us. A few more Dafa practitioners were brought in when I left there; they were also tied to their beds all day and were forcibly injected and medicated.

Above was the general situation while I stayed at Yantai Mental Healing Center. By telling my personal experience, I hope it will help more kind-hearted people understand the truth of how the evil force has persecuted Dafa and Dafa practitioners. In order to ensure its truthfulness, I've revised this article over and over. I have described only impersonal facts about my experiences, but not my feelings, which some would use as excuse to reject my entire story as subjective. What I have said here is all verifiable. I am a Dafa practitioner, thus I hold myself responsible for everything I have said.

Time at the hospital: March 2 ?March 30, 2000. My husband and I had to pay for all the expenses of the enforced stay in the hospital.

The True Experiences of Other Practitioners in the Mental Hospital

Narrator: Sun Yuhua, female, 53 years old, retired worker of Head Quarter of Yantai City Daily Sundry Goods Company. She lives at inner #2 of 10 Huanxin Rd., Zifu District, Yantai City.

I was detained in the 3rd ward of Laiyang Mental Hospital for 17 days from February 28 to March 15, 2000. My arms and legs were shackled to the bed for two days and nights. I was forced to take medication and injections that should have been used on mentally ill people. Some practitioners vomited while being force-fed medicines. One day, the eleven practitioners in the ward all decided: We are not mentally ill; we would resist all injections starting from now. The nurses came in to drag us out one by one. One practitioner (Song Hui, also lives in Zifu District) resisted with every last ounce of her strength. A few nurses exerted their own utmost strength to restrain her, their faces turning eggplant-purple from the effort. Another practitioner said, "I would not live if another injection were given." I grabbed the doctor in charge and asked, "Don't you fear if anybody dies here?" The director was so afraid that his face also turned several colors, and said, "Don't give injections, don't give injections." From that day on, no one in the ward tried to give practitioners any injections. Studying the Fa and practicing the exercises became normal.

A female practitioner, Ms. Ning, refused all injections from her arrival at the Mental Hospital, saying, "If anyone dares to inject me, I will die in front of you." Doctors and nurses were all very afraid of her; no one dared to give her injections. When new practitioners came in, she encouraged by saying, "don't take injection, Master has lectured such a great law, we shouldn't allow them to damage us." A few days later, the doctors and nurses had to send her away quickly because they were all afraid of her. She easily passed this test. However, I know the environments in other wards are not as good. They couldn't practice the exercises at all. One's dosage would be increased on being caught practicing the exercises; both hands and legs would be tied to the bed, injections given, and medications forced down by clamping the nose shut.

There were a few dozen practitioners from another region detained here before us. They didn't accept any injections; the doctors didn't force them either.

Wang Weijie, female, lives at Dongkouzi, Zifu District, Yantai City. She was detained in Laiyang Mental Hospital in March 2000. They also tortured her with medication and injections. But they provoked no response in her body at all. She could eat and sleep normally. She even helped the staff to clean. When she left the hospital, one doctor told her, "You are the only healthy one among them." All other practitioners appeared severely tortured when they left the hospital.
