1. [Pengzhou, Sichuan Province] A 16-Month Old Detainee in Pengzhou Detention Center
Practitioner Zeng Yi from Pengzhou, Sichuan Province, was detained because of practicing Falun Gong. Her husband came to the detention center to request her release, bringing their 16 month old baby along. The police not only rejected the request but also inhumanly detained the 16 month old baby! They used the excuse that they would let the mother take care of the baby in the detention center. Is this what Jiang Zemin calls "the best time for human rights in China?"
We hope all kind people offer their help to save the mother and young baby and other thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners. At the same time, we want to warn those Jiang Zemin's followers. In time people will receive retribution for all of these bad deeds. If people don't stop these evil deeds, retribution will arrive soon.
2. [North China] Truth-clarifying Materials Help a Practitioner Promote the Fa to the Police
Recently, two practitioners from a city in northern China went to another small city to post truth-clarifying materials. They walked up and down the streets and lanes all morning. When they posted the flyers on walls, many people gathered to read the articles. Because they were from other cities, some local people were aware of them and began to talk about them, but the practitioners didn't pay too much attention to them. Then one bad person phoned the police. Soon, a policeman came and started following them. Later more policemen came. In the end, there were about 3 or 4 uniformed policemen and some plainclothes policemen following them. They began to run and sent forth righteous thoughts. One practitioner ran away but one was arrested. The arrested practitioner refused to tell the source of the materials or to give out his name and address. So the police handcuffed the practitioner and hung him by his handcuffed wrists. The police searched the practitioner and found some truth-clarifying VCDs. They had read some truth materials but they had never seen any truth-clarifying VCDs. They were very curious. The policemen stopped the interrogation and went to another room to watch the VCD. Other policemen heard that Falun Gong had some new stuff, so they came to the room to watch the VCD, too.
After about one hour, the policemen who interrogated the practitioner came back. Before they said much more, the practitioner realized that their attitude had softened. They loosened the handcuffs and began to say some soft words to persuade the practitioner. They also explained that they had to arrest the practitioners only because someone had called the police. They told him that the other practitioner was smart and had escaped. If the practitioner they had arrested could have run away, they would have not have arrested him and they would not have had so much trouble. The practitioner was not moved by their words and still refused to give his name or the source of the materials. The police then transferred the practitioner to a detention center.
After a few days, the policemen from that local substation brought the practitioner back from the detention center and continued the interrogation. During the interrogation, the policemen asked many extra questions about the truth of Falun Gong. It was therefore half interrogation and half discussion. The practitioner told them all the truth he (she) knew about Falun Gong. For a long time the policemen listened to him (her) quietly and thoughtfully. It looked like the truth-clarifying VCD had shown its power to destroy evil. Later, the practitioner sent forth righteous thoughts and had a chance to walk out of the police station.
We learned two things from this event. First, while we were telling people the truth, we were more focused on the quantity of flyers distributed and anxious to see the result. So we were not cautious even when we saw that policemen were following us. Second, though the event happened (and one practitioner was detained for a few days), the policemen in that small city actually watched the truth-clarifying VCD. They learned the truth about Falun Gong. Their hearts were strongly shaken and some kind-hearted policemen were saved. A bad event turned out to be a very good one. Teacher ingeniously arranged everything and gave hints to the practitioners to speak out the truth at the same time.
3. [Sichuan Province] Kind People want to know the Truth about Falun Dafa
One Sichuan practitioner put the Dafa book and several truth-clarifying VCDs in a chaff separator. One day, a relative came to borrow the Rice-Blower. The practitioner was not at home and the family didn't know the books and VCDs were hidden in the chaff separator. So they loaned it to the relative.
When the relative was blowing the grains through the separator, the books and VCDs were blown out. The farmers at the site fought with each other to get the books and VCDs. Later, someone brought a VCD player to the plaza and played the VCD program for hours. Several hundred villagers watched the truth program. This turned out to be an excellent Fa promotion event.
The local officials heard the news. Before this event, they had frequently patrolled the village in order to search for and arrest practitioners. Since this event, they lost their motivation. No villagers will give them information about practitioners anymore. The evil lies are no longer credible.
From this event, we learn that many small villages receive very little news from outside. These kind people listen to the evil propaganda. They aren't told any of the truth. Clearly we should escalate our truth-clarifying efforts in order to reach many more such people and offer them salvation.
4. [China] Experiencing Supernormal Abilities
The key to the iron, sheet metal cabinet in my work place was lost, and the cabinet remained locked and unused. One day when I was sitting alone in the office it occurred to me that if the printer were stored in the cabinet, it would be handy when used for printing Falun Dafa materials. But how could I open the cabinet? Suddenly I remembered that practitioners once opened a lock with righteous thoughts when they forgot the key to their indoor practice site. At my work place, there was no one around, and as this plan would only help Dafa, why not give it try? So I stepped forward and held the handle and pulled the cabinet door with force. The door of the metal cabinet opened at once. Although I completely believe in the existence of supernormal abilities, I was still shocked at that moment. I felt the mighty power of the righteous thoughts in mind.
5. [Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] With Righteous Thoughts in Mind, Practitioners from Inner Mongolia Return Safely after Validating Dafa in Tiananmen Square
Falun Dafa practitioners from a city in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa on September 30, October 1, and October 2, 2001 respectively. They unfurled banners that said "Falun Dafa Is Good" and other such phrases. They shouted "Falun Dafa is good! Restore the Reputation of our Teacher!" The evil forces were intimidated. These several practitioners all returned safely the next day.
6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners from Chengdu City Return Safely after Validating Dafa in Tiananmen Square
On the morning of July 25, 2001, Falun Dafa practitioners from Chengdu City successfully validated Dafa in Tiananmen Square and safely returned home. They arrived in Beijing that same morning and at around 9:00 AM a female practitioner started doing the Falun Gong exercises, while male practitioners shouted loudly "Falun Dafa is good!" A lot of onlookers were attracted, and foreign visitors were taking pictures. A small child pointed to some male practitioners and called out "Falun Buddha Law!" After the crowd had left, they went to a different site in the square and validated Dafa in the same way. Throughout the entire process there was no police intervention. Thus they left Beijing and were on their way home at a little past 11:00 AM.
What is commendable is the husband of a female practitioner who doesn't practice Falun Gong. Before leaving for Beijing, his wife told him that if the police came to ask about her whereabouts he could simply reply that she was traveling. After she left, her husband told her fellow practitioners, "She went to Beijing to validate Dafa, and I don't blame her. If she were merely traveling, then I would blame her."
7. [Tianjin City] Tianjin Municipal Government Allocates Huge Funds to Construct a Labor Camp Specifically for the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners
It has been reported that the municipal government of Tianjin has allocated 500 million RMB Yuan to construct a labor camp in Dongli District of Tianjin to imprison only Falun Dafa practitioners. We hope fellow practitioners send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil.
8. [China] Not a Single Genuine Cultivator Is Left Behind
In order to not cooperate with the evil and not attend brainwashing classes, during this past summer vacation the three members of my family traveled to the home of my youngest aunt thousands of li away (1 li equivalent to kilometer). My youngest aunt is very kind and honest, and she obtained the Fa in June 1999. We were worried that under the pressure of the evil forces she might stop practicing Falun Gong since she had only fairly recently obtained the Fa. She surprised us by discussing Dafa related things as soon as she met us. She told us that her daughter picked up a Dafa leaflet on the ground and brought it home. Then, when her husband wasn't around she reposted it. Since her fellow practitioners had been held in custody, she wasn't able to receive Teacher's most recent articles. We then brought out Teacher's articles and some materials that we weren't able to finish distributing. She said, "Leave all the materials with me, and I will post them when I get a chance." Not long after we returned home, my youngest aunt called and told us that she was back in contact with her fellow practitioners, who had all received the materials. She asked us not to worry any more. We feel really pleased with her.
9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Female Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhu Xia from Chengdu Is Illegally Sent to a Labor Camp
Female practitioner Zhu Xia from Chengdu City was sent to the Chengdu Grand Municipal Prison in mid-May 2001. She was sentenced to forced labor "reeducation" on August 15 and sent to the Nanmusi Female Labor Camp in Zizhong. Along with her, practitioners Chen Hexiu and Liu Liping were also sent to the same labor camp from the Grand Municipal Prison. Zhu Xia is a practitioner who resolutely safeguards the Fa. Her husband is still being illegally held at the Xinhua Labor Camp in Mianyang. Now that Zhu Xia is in the Nanmusi Labor Camp, their one-year-old baby is left at home. We ask that kind-hearted people care for this family, and eliminate the evil with efforts from all of us.
Practitioner Liu Li, female, 28-year-old, was an elementary school teacher. She was dismissed from her post a year ago because she persevered in practicing Dafa. Beginning this year when the Conference of the People's Congress was being held, she refused to cooperate in the evil brainwashing classes held in the same period. She was handcuffed right in the class and sent to a detention center. She was then sent to the Grand Municipal Prison on March 15. Under the severe conditions in the prison, Liu Li continues to cultivate Dafa with determination as solid as a rock. While in prison she was handcuffed since she did Falun Gong exercises there. She was sentenced to forced labor "reeducation" on May 25, 2001.
Practitioner Li Bingnan, female, is 60-years-old and her daughter Ren Jing, female, is 32-years-old. A total of seven people were arrested when distributing materials on May 21, 2001. They have been held in the Grand Municipal Prison since June 8. Li Bingnan is being held in isolation.
10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] University Student Illegally Sentenced to Three Years in Jail
Song Jinying (male) is a student from Chengdu University of Science and Engineering. In October of 2000, he was arrested for distributing truth clarifying materials about Falun Dafa. After a month of being illegally detained in Lianhuachun Detention House, he wasn't released. Instead, he was transferred and held in many different places, such as, in the public security office of the local government, the security section of a factory, etc. Each day, he was kept handcuffed to a chair. Early in the morning one day in November, he managed to remove the handcuffs and escape from the evil persecutor's control. In December, he was arrested again and detained in Lianhuachun Detention House for another month. On January 16th of 2001, he was transferred to Ningxiajie Detention Center. On June 11th, Chenghan District Court illegally sentenced him to three years in jail.
11. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Evil Forces Lure Good People Using All Means
The evil forces in Chengdu City held a corrupt display in Yueliangwan (name of a place in the city) intending to dishonor Falun Dafa. In order to lure as many attendees as possible, the evil people employed every possible means to arrange for people to visit the display. Busloads of primary school pupils and high school students were brought in . Every village and production team in the countryside had to organize its peasants to visit the display. Work units had to buy the entrance tickets for the employees; 2 yuan per ticket. In order to carry out the task and get their employees to go and visit the display, some work units gave each person 10 yuan as a bonus; some scheduled the visit to the display in the morning, followed by a banquet at noon and sightseeing at a nearby village or playing Mah jongg ( a Chinese game for gambling and entertainment) in the afternoon.
12. [Qingbaijiang, Sichuan Province] Latest News
On September 20th, Baishu, a Falun Dafa disciple from Qingbaijiang of Sichuan Province, was reported and arrested while staying over one night at a local practitioner's home. He is presently detained at the Qingbaijiang Detention House.
Dafa disciples Wang Fang, Jiang Nianli and Luo Yuanhe were arrested on January 18, 2000 for printing Falun Dafa materials. Later, they were illegally kept in Mianyang Detention House. It is now clear that Wang Fang and Jiang Nianli have been illegally sentenced to six years in jail. The present situation of the other fellow practitioner is not known.
13. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Every Parent Must Sign and Fingerprint Statement of Guarantee
The newly appointed director of the Education Bureau in Changyi District of Jilin City used money to buy his position. In order to strengthen his power and position and climb higher on the "ladder" of leadership, he offended Heaven and reason by demanding that the entire staff in the educational system write a statement of guarantee, vowing to not practice Falun Gong. Worst of all, he asked every parent to write a statement of guarantee, promising that no one in the family will practice Falun Gong, then to sign and fingerprint it. He has thus endangered many innocent people. Some parents felt very uncomfortable after signing the statement. Falun Dafa disciples solemnly warn this selfish and vicious director: For persecuting Falun Dafa, you will definitely receive heavenly retribution!
14. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Female Teacher is Kidnapped
A female English teacher of an experimental primary school (the former 25th Primary School) in Changyi District of Jilin Dity, promoted Falun Dafa by telling stories of how Jesus Christ had suffered, how Sakiyamuni's disciples had been persecuted throughout history and about what is happening today to Falun Dafa. More than 20 pupils were deeply moved and shed tears. The following day, when she asked if they would like to listen to more of such stories, all the children answered, "Yes." In this way, she spread Dafa in the classroom twice. This kind female teacher had told these children a truth from which they will benefit all their life.
This teacher was recently reported, and soon after, she was kidnapped by police.
15. [Jilin city, Jilin Province] Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts and Stopping Evil
I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Jilin City. I was first detained in Huanxiling Labor Camp of Jilin City. On March 27th of this year, I was transferred to Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai City of Jilin Province. In Jiutai Labor Camp, I was moved from cell #3 to cell #2, where there were two brutal criminal prisoners, Wang Ming and "Old Sparrow Hawk" (nickname), who were doing the supervision work in the cells at the time. Both of them were very vicious, beating whomever they wanted. "Old Sparrow Hawk" who beat people with iron hooks, plastic pipes, hoes etc. was especially vicious. Many Falun Gong practitioners suffered a lot from his beatings. Some, no longer able to bear the beatings, even wrote the statements promising to stop practicing Falun Dafa. These people have already woken up and are cultivating in Dafa once again. The criminal prisoners in the cell were also afraid of the two thugs. In the evening when I moved to cell #2, "Old Sparrow Hawk" and Wang Ming intended to conduct their abuse of power on me and another Dafa disciple. They made up some regulations of no this or no that to limit us. If we didn't obey, they wouldn't be easy on us. At the time, I wasn't scared at all. I kindly reasoned with them but they didn't listen and intended to beat me. I told one of them, seriously, "No matter how vicious you were before, I won't allow you to be so any more." Hearing this, "Old Sparrow Hawk" became so anxious and upset that he wrung his hands constantly. He wanted to beat us, but dared not. When he saw that we were not afraid of him at all, he tried to find an out for himself. He said, "When I was at Team #2, some of your Falun Gong people were good to me. Plus, I'm going home soon since my term is almost due; I won't trouble you any more." Ever since then, "Old Sparrow Hawk" was no longer reckless towards us. When other criminal prisoners were bullying us, he even stepped forward and stopped them. Wang Ming and "Old Sparrow Hawk" said that they would no longer make insults towards the Teacher and Falun Dafa or abuse Falun Dafa disciples. The evil withdrew in front of our righteous thoughts.
