Your correspondence of August 17, concerning the situation of three of our
fellow citizens who are also members of your association and being detained in
China, captured my full attention. I thus contacted the Minister of Foreign
Affairs, so that he would investigate as he should the development of the
situation of these three people.
You know the degree to which the respect of human rights in the world matters to me and I thank you for having drawn my attention to this matter.
