My Understanding of "Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts"

(Clearwisdom.net) The first time I sent forth righteous thoughts, it gave me a very strong impression. My mind was righteous, and my thoughts were strong. When I was sending the thoughts, I focused wholly and entirely on "The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated." Instantly, I felt I had dissolved with the universe, and I was incomparably tall and big. I felt every sweat pore and cell of mine had been opened up, and all of my supernormal capabilities had been released. The energy pillar on top of my head extended straight to the edge of the cosmos and it was mighty powerful. I was somewhat excited and nervous. What mighty power I had!

Because I was attached to it, the powerful feeling disappeared after a few days. My righteous thoughts weakened and I even became numb about it. Then I was just doing it as finishing a task. I did exercises and eliminated the evil at a fixed hour. It may have looked as if I were doing it according to the progress of Fa-rectification, but in reality, I was cheating Teacher and myself. Teacher said, "When we eliminate evil you should keep in mind that if you have the intention of showing off, have ordinary human fears, or have impure thoughts, you won't be able to achieve the goal. Why do you have an ability like this? It's only because you are a great cultivator that you have an ability like this. So when you send out that thought it couldn't have been sent by anyone but a great cultivator." (Teaching the Fa at the 2001 Canada Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference) Teacher gave me a heavy blow. I finally woke up. The wicked old forces had taken advantage of my attachment again. They caused damage to my rectifying the Fa, because I had omissions! I was committing sins against Teacher, Dafa, and the living beings who were waiting for me to save them. I immediately corrected all of my wrong thoughts and conduct with respect to Dafa.

Through carefully studying the Fa, I gained new understanding about sending forth righteous thoughts. Teacher said in Zhuan Falun, "When one chants the Buddha's name, one must do it single-mindedly with nothing else in mind until other portions of the brain become numb and one becomes unaware of anything, with one thought replacing thousands of others, or until each word of 'Buddha Amitabha' shows up before one's eyes." From this passage of Teacher's words, I enlightened that we must do it single-mindedly when we repeat the verse "The Fa rectifies the Cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated. The Fa rectifies Heaven and Earth, immediate retribution in this lifetime." Each word of this phrase should show up before our eyes. This way our righteous thoughts will have boundless mighty power, and we will be able to use our supernormal capability at will. I do this according to my understanding, and every time I do it, my righteous thoughts are boundlessly powerful again.

Fellow Fa-rectification practitioners, let's cultivate diligently together! Let's dissolve all of ourselves into the Fa, and fulfill the great historic mission that Teacher endowed upon us! Here, I pure-heartedly call on those practitioners who still don't know what "Fa-rectification disciples" are: wake up! Otherwise what you lose will never come back!
