An Outside Review: Is it Their Own Fault That People Jumped to Their Death During the Terrorist Attacks on America?

(Clearwisdom.net) For all of us who saw the reports and images on TV and in the media about the terrorist attacks on America, I'm afraid we can never forget these terrible scenes. One especially horrible memory is that some people even jumped out of the building from dozens of floors above. I personally saw a scene of a man in white dropping from the skyscraper upside down. It was horrifying to personally witness this. Those people knew very well that their fate after jumping was certain death, but they still made such a desperate decision. It can only be imagined how desperate they were in the smoky, hot, and suffocating building that they chose to die rather than live. Now if the terrorists had claimed these people were committing suicide while jumping from the building, and they, not the terrorists, were responsible for their deaths, could we even accept such a ridiculous explanation by the terrorists?

However this is exactly the same logic used by Jiang Zemin's regime in China. During the past two years, this regime has brutally persecuted Falun Gong and caused over 290 confirmed deaths of Falun Gong practitioners (the actual toll is far beyond this, some inside sources claim it is as high as 1000 deaths.) But Jiang's authority has shirked all responsibility and put blame on Falun Gong by using the excuse that practitioners are "committing suicide." Then why have we never heard of a single case of suicide in Taiwan where tens of thousands of people practice Falun Gong? Why isn't there a single case of suicide in North America, Europe, and Australia?

Jiang's regime simply can't deny the truth that almost all the death cases of Falun Gong practitioners happened while in police custody, just as the September 11^th terrorists can't deny the fact that the people jumped out of the World Trade Center building in New York as a direct result of their attack.

During the illegal detention, Falun Gong practitioners are not only forced to do hard labor, but also coerced into writing the "repentance letter." Whoever wants to be released must also write statements to break from Falun Gong and expose the so-called crimes of Falun Gong. The released practitioners then need to express their gratitude by sending a brocade banner to the labor camp where they have been held unlawfully. After that they would be asked to give interviews on TV to denounce Dafa. Then they are expected to persecute other Falun Gong practitioners using the same means. Using such tactics is just like arresting a Christian, forcing him to curse Jesus, denounce God, and betray his fellow Christians, then become another Judas. Such mental abuse is absolutely unacceptable for people who sincerely believe in their faith because it is the same as selling their souls to evil.

In order to mentally rape the practitioners and control their souls, Jiang's authority has used all types of brutal punishment, such as beating with electric batons, shocking with high-voltage electricity, hanging up for extended periods of time, sleep deprivation for a long time, freezing outside in winter, and sexually abusing female practitioners.

Even if it is found that some Falun Gong practitioners, under extreme duress, did not follow the Falun Gong principle of "committing suicide is sinful" and instead selected suicide to protest or release themselves, that's because they could no longer stand the abuse and torture in a human hell in prison. How could Jiang's authority escape from the responsibility of having driven them to suicide? According to the logic from Jiang's regime, people who jumped to their death in the September 11^th attack had only themselves to blame.

Recently, Jiang's authority denied all the crimes committed by Zhou Zhifei, the head of the "610" office (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) in Hubei province, who was served with a law suit notice in America by Falun Gong practitioners during the period of the human rights dialogue between China and America. Again they quibbled with "committing suicide" excuses. Does "committing suicide" really relieve them of the responsibility of their brutal crimes? Does the "committing suicide" excuse truly cover up the evil conduct of Jiang's Zemin's own political directive that any "killing is to be treated as suicide"?
