Two Ridiculous Remarks by the Jiang Zemin Regime during the APEC Summit
By Fei Ming
(Clearwisdom.net) The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit
held in Shanghai attracted reporters from many countries. During the conference,
Zhang Qiyue, a media spokeswoman for the Jiang Zemin regime, was questioned by a
foreign reporter. When asked why the homepages of some foreign media could not
be browsed from the computers at the conference's News Center, Zhang was quoted
by Agence France Presse (AFP) as saying, "Perhaps the internet data
exchange encountered some problem, which I have no idea." Her reply aroused
a jeer of laughter from reporters. Obviously, the reporters had already gotten
used to the spokesperson's lies, and no longer felt angry or shocked at her
evasive answer, but simply treated it as complete nonsense.
The well-known fact is that the Jiang Zemin regime blocks the internet, seals
off communication, and deprives the populace of their right to know the truth.
Among all types of information, what the Jiang regime fears most is the truth
about Falun Gong. During the past two years of Jiang's persecution, Falun Gong
practitioners in and outside China have been truthfully introducing Falun Gong
to the public by all means. They also, in a peaceful and good-willed manner,
have been exposing the Jiang regime's propaganda and deceit, at the same time
revealing all sorts of its evil conduct in persecuting innocent people. This is
what Jiang Zemin and his accomplices who have committed countless crimes fear
most.
Just recently, another Jiang regime spokesperson told an even more deplorable
joke. This time, the player was not Zhang Qiyue, who had already embarrassed
herself in front of the reporters, but instead, another professional liar, Sun
Yuxi. This spokesman declared that anthrax germs, which have been bringing a lot
of panic to people in the US, were discovered in mail containing Falun Gong
truth materials.
First of all, the fact that anthrax-bearing mail containing Falun Gong truth
materials itself rules out the possibility that it was done by Falun Gong
practitioners. This point is self-evident. Since it was not done by Falun Gong
practitioners, then who did it? We need simply think: who most hates Falun Gong
and has spared no effort in framing and slandering Falun Gong and instigating
the public's hatred towards Falun Gong? Who wants to take advantage of the
international community's counter-terrorism alliance to attempt to justify
another wave of persecution against Falun Gong in the name of fighting
terrorism? Who is fearful of the dissemination of the truth of Falun Gong and
would not hesitate to use deadly poison to terrify those who are given the
truth? Who is implementing state-terrorism against its own citizens by dealing
with defenseless common people with the rule "deaths from beating are to be
treated as suicides?" Who is creating chaos and attempting to shift the
media attention away from China's human rights situation just as international
media zoom in on Shanghai?
Within two short days, Jiang Zemin's associates lied twice in the face of the
international media. These kind of crude remarks should make them embarrassed.
Let's wait and see what laughable farce they'll come up with next time, and
which professional liar will perform the task.
