Female practitioner Liang Yening from Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, has been imprisoned in the Chengde Jail in Hebei Province since being illegally sentenced to that facility. Because the authorities found she was so firm in her belief of Falun Dafa and was very difficult to be brainwashed, they intensified the torture and pressure by transferring her to another prison called Taihang Jail. There she was intended to exchange places with Ding Yan (a female practitioner at Taihang Jail who was later tortured to death on August 18, 2001).

In Taihang Jail, Liang Yening was locked up in an isolated cell. A disciplinary guard is assigned to be in charge of her and seven to eight criminals are sent over to watch her in consecutively. She was confined to a small cell at all times and was not allowed to leave for meals or to use the bathroom. When she was first arrested, her parents, relatives and friends didn't know where she was jailed. When they finally found out where she was being detained, the prison's guard refused them permission to visit her. Even the daily necessities that they tried to send to her were stolen by the guards. The guards kept all of the good items to themselves while those they didn't want were given to her. The guards used all kinds of methods to try to brainwash her but all of their efforts ended in failure. Once they used Duan Rongxin, who was the previous primary assistant of the Falun Dafa Shijiazhuang Assistance Center and was brainwashed and made to renounce her belief at that time, to persuade her to denounce her faith in Falun Gong. But after Duan had a short conversation with her, he gradually realized that he was wrong and was deceived by the evil's lies. This unexpected result made the guard very nervous and therefore the guard immediately sent Duan to Hebei Jidong Prison in Tangshan City. After the female practitioner Ding Yan was tortured to death, the guard tried to brainwash Liang Yening. But Liang Yening sternly told the guard: "Even if in this universe only one practitioner is left, then that will be me!" Frustrated, the guard left her in a hurry.

The righteous thoughts of the imprisoned Falun Dafa practitioners destroyed the evil element that resided in all lives. The practitioners validated the Fa (Law and principles) by their amazing forbearance. Their actions reflect the great dignity and solidity of being a Falun Gong practitioner.
