Firmly Validating Dafa

Our family started to cultivate Falun Dafa in July 1998. Although we haven't experienced any supernormal feelings, we firmly believe in Teacher and Dafa. Since July 20, 1999, the police have been asking us to write statements to quit the practice. We never cooperate with the evil, since we know Dafa is good and Teacher is saving people. We have heard many stories about cultivation and know that those who weren't firm did not succeed in cultivation. We never agree with anything that the evil asks us to do and always openly practice Dafa. Everyone who comes to our house can see Teacher's picture and Dafa books on the table. We turn the volume up all the way when we listen to Teacher's lectures. We realize that we should not be scared by the evil. We want Teacher's voice to echo in our house all the time. We spread the Fa to anyone who slanders Dafa in front of us. We tell them the truth of the situation and reason with them. A policeman asked us whether we were still practicing Falun Dafa. Our family answered firmly, "Yes!" The policeman said, "We all know those who practice Falun Gong are good people. But we have no other choice, since these are orders from our superiors. You can practice at home if you like." Our county government knows that my father is the most "stubborn" (firm) and that our whole family is practicing Falun Gong.

The path of cultivation zigzags--there were also times when we did not do well. For example, the police were afraid that we would go to Beijing to make appeals. They took my parents' and my identification cards away (everyone in China must carry an ID card to go anywhere). We thought that we could still go to Beijing without the ID cards. Although I knew what the police did was wrong and illegal, I did not pay enough attention to this matter until one day in September when we listened to the recording of Falun Dafa Radio of Sept. 3, 2001. We heard an experience-sharing article from a practitioner. The practitioner was fired because she practiced Falun Gong and her ID card was taken by the police. Out of her righteous understanding and faith in Dafa, she asked for the ID card back and went back to work. We thought that practitioner did very well and also saw our own shortcomings through listening to her experience. Teacher said, "As a Dafa disciple, everything of yours is formed by Dafa and is the most righteous, and it can only be that [you] rectify everything that is not righteous. How could you bow to the evil?"(from "Dafa is Indestructible") Of course, the police should not have taken our ID cards, but we also should not have indulged the evil. The three of us decided to ask for our cards back immediately in order to rectify the Fa and to eliminate the evil behind the police. We put on nice clothes and headed out for the police station. On the road, we silently recited Teacher's Fa-rectification verses and were calm in our minds. We felt that a very strong righteous power followed us, eliminating the evil. When we arrived at the police station, people all stared at us with surprise, since we were wearing bright Falun Dafa buttons on our chests. There were 5 -- 6 people in the office at the time, including the Chief. My father asked, "Is our local policeman here?" One policeman said no. The Chief knew us and asked us why we were looking for the local policeman. My father said that he took away our ID cards and that we would like to have them back. The Chief asked, "What do you need the ID for?" I said, "The card belongs to me, so I want it back." My mother said, "You shouldn't withhold the ID cards. The law says that nobody should hold citizens' ID cards, including police stations." Another policeman asked, "Do you want the ID cards in order to go to Beijing?" We said, "We can go to Beijing without the ID cards." A policeman sitting across from where my father was standing stared at the Falun Dafa button he was wearing and read loudly, "Zhen, Shan, Ren." Then the Chief said, "All three of them are wearing this." He asked where we got the buttons. We answered that we've had them since we started our cultivation and had always worn them. We asked again when the local policeman would be back. One of the policemen said that he sprained his ankle several days ago and was resting at home. The Chief said that he might be away for half a year or even a year if the injury was too severe. Then another policeman came in. He had been to our house before and seemed very stern at that time. However, upon hearing our request, his attitude changed and he said, "The ID cards should be returned to you." He contacted our local policeman and made the necessary arrangements. After chatting for a while, we left the police station and went home. Although we didn't get our ID cards, the policeman agreed to return them to us. During the conversation, we had been repeating Teacher's verses in our heads and the whole room was filled with righteous power and the evil was suffocated. All of the police had very good attitudes and didn't say a single word to slander Dafa.

We did not fear even a bit from the time when we decided to go to the police station to the time when we left the station, because we are the most righteous ones. Fear is a bad thought and bad behavior, which righteous beings shouldn't have. It is what we should be eliminating. We are Dafa practitioners and the most righteous, so why should we be afraid of evil? Evil is really trivial and not worth being afraid of. It's not worth anything. Teacher said, "All of you are already aware of the principle of mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition. If you are not afraid, the factor that would make you afraid will become non-existent. This is not to be self-imposed, but is achieved by calmly and truly letting go of it." (from "Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)") We had actually reached the realm where we did not have fear in the face of different situations and where we were unaffected in the face of evil. As a result, our righteous thoughts and faith made the evil afraid. Teacher said before that he likes to watch children, since every move and thought of a child is very pure. If a child faced the police or evil, he would not be afraid since he doesn't understand or know what fear is. He does not even have the word fear in his mind. If we can be like that, we will definitely be able to do better in clarifying the truth and offering salvation to people. Since July 20, 1999, we have never bowed to the evil and have firmly passed every test with unshakable faith in Dafa and Teacher, with our own righteous thoughts, and with self-confidence. Only after we firmly passed the tests did we enlighten to the fact that everything is in Teacher's control. Teacher was just testing our xinxing (the nature of one's heart or mind; moral character). As long as our minds are firm, all difficulties are just illusions. Teacher said, "When you are overcoming a real hardship or tribulation, you try it. When it is difficult to endure, try to endure it. When it looks impossible and is said to be impossible, give it a try and see if it is possible. If you can actually do it, you will indeed find: 'After passing the shady willow trees, there will be bright flowers and another village ahead!'" (from Zhuan Falun, in "People with Great Inborn Quality")

I have an 11-year-old sister who sometimes listens to Teacher's lectures and reads the Dafa books. However, she prefers playing to doing the exercises. Yet no matter the circumstance, she always says that she practices Falun Gong and is Teacher's student. She has often experienced elimination of sickness karma and never had doubts, but instead firmly believed in Teacher and Dafa. When adults have said bad things sometimes, she has used Teacher's words to correct them. Since July 20, 1999, whenever relatives, neighbors, or schoolmates ask her whether she still practices Falun Gong, she has always replied, "Falun Dafa is good. I practice." Sometimes she also goes out with adults to distribute Dafa flyers or post signs.

Once, her Principal and Vice Principal called her to the office, and she had no fear, even in front of all the teachers in the room. She clarified the truth to the teachers and validated Dafa. The Vice Principal asked, "Are you still practicing Falun Gong?" She said yes. The Vice Principal then asked, "What benefits are there to practicing Falun Gong?" She said, "Getting healed of illness and keeping fit, and learning how to become a better person." The Vice Principal said, "What's good about getting healed and keeping fit?" One of the teachers said, "What's not good about getting healed and keeping fit?" The Principal asked, "Who else is in your home is practicing?" She answered, "My father, my mother, and my sister." Then the Principal asked, "Are you allowed to practice at home?" She said, "Why wouldn't I be? The police let us practice at home." The Principal tried to scare her, "I know the police Chief and I will call him to verify this." She said, "Ok, go ahead." Some of the teachers said, "Some people who practice Falun Gong went to Beijing and lit themselves on fire." She replied, "Those are false practitioners, not real Dafa practitioners." The Principal threatened, "There is an order that those who practice Falun Gong be dismissed." She replied, "So be it." After she came home, my parents told her that she did very well and she did the right thing. We all felt happy for her. The teachers, the students, and their parents all knew about this. Some said, "If even this child is so determined, imagine how determined the adults must be."

Once, the police come to our house, and my sister saw a Dafa book on the windowsill, so she slowly pulled the curtain so it would cover the book. The Chief spotted what she was doing and asked her, "Do you have Dafa books in your house? Let me take a look." She said, "I wouldn't give one to you if we did have any." The Chief asked why. She said, "You would take it away if I gave it to you." The police all laughed at her. One of the policemen told us, "We got a headache as soon as we arrived here. So many people practice Falun Gong here, and even a kid isn't afraid of us."

Teacher's Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners are most righteous. The only one who should be afraid is the evil. The Dafa practitioners in our area all actively look for things to do that can benefit Dafa and whole-heartedly do them. Teacher said, "So in clarifying the truth, don't wait, don't rely on others, and don't just hope for changes in external factors. Every one of us is creating history for the future, that's why everyone is not only participating in group activities, but also taking the initiative to look for work to do. As long as something is good for Dafa, you should take the initiative to do it, take the initiative to work on it." (from "To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference") The Dafa practitioners in our area have posted banners with "Falun Dafa is good!" or "Zhen, Shan, Ren" etc. in various sizes and colors that can be seen everywhere on the streets in our villages, towns, and counties. Residents here can read truth-clarifying flyers every day. Sometimes there are hundreds of Dafa banners waving on the trees that line the streets. Dafa posters, banners, and flyers radiate light that makes the evil fear. The leaders in our county have said, "Falun Gong is everywhere, and we cannot control it." It is Teacher's mercy, Dafa's power, and practitioners' collective efforts that leave the evil no place to exist.

Teacher has suffered so much for us and has given us so many beautiful things. The only thing Teacher wants from us is a heart that firmly believes in Dafa. And the thing that evil fears most is also the firm hearts of Dafa practitioners who believe in Teacher and Dafa.

Having written all of this, I still feel that I can't express what I enlightened to during this time and feel that this is so shallow. I look forward to having practitioners point out any shortcoming in this article.
