Experiencing Hardships to Clarify the Truth -- A Practitioner in Japan
Wangyue Liangzi (Japan) My name is Wangyue Liangzi and I have been practising Falun Dafa for almost 4
years. Especially during the past 2 years, with the deepening of my
understanding of Cultivation and Fa-rectification, I've been closely following
Master to advance step by step, and follow the process of Fa-rectification.
Master said in the article "Dafa is Indestructible": "Clarify
the truth thoroughly, eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts, save all
beings, and safeguard the Fa with determination, because you are a part of Dafa,
indestructible; rectify all that is not righteous."
Practitioners in China have gone to Tiananmen Square under great pressure to
clarify the truth to people, to expose the evil and to verify the Dafa, which
shows the greatness of Dafa practitioners. How should we practitioners overseas
clarify the truth to people? This is also a test for each and every
practitioner. At that time I had conflicting feelings in my heart. I have a
little granddaughter and I have been looking after her since she was born. She
has participated in various truth-clarifying activities with me, but at that
time it was possible because she was still little. But now I leave home everyday
and go out to verify Dafa. So I have to take a lot of things that she needs for
eating and drinking, etc. Also she is too little to endure the cold in winter
and heat in summer. But, I must step out! There are many difficulties in
stepping out, but I must to verify Dafa. Because it was our merciful Master who
has given me all of what I have today.
I was a cancer patient, but now I have
fully recovered. Master said in Zhuan Falun, "the life prolonged
hereafter is all rearranged for you to cultivate."There was an ancient
saying that, "A teacher for one day is the father for the whole life."
Now since Dafa is being persecuted, Master is being defamed and attacked, I must
step out to verify Dafa and say a fair word for Dafa. I will overcome even
harder difficulties. So I decided to go to out to hand out Dafa materials. At
the beginning, I distributed fliers to the mailboxes along every household, one
by one, together with a practitioner who has a child. However it was so
difficult when we started. I couldn't speak Japanese, and was also very shy and
afraid of being seen by others. So I walked around the buildings again and again
but dared not to ask where the mailboxes were. I did not know how to pronounce
the word for "mailbox" in Japanese. With the child tied in front of my
chest and the bag with fliers on my back, I had already got too tired to take a
breath and had sweat all over my body -- even before I was able to hand out a
single flier. But when we saw a group of mailboxes, we smiled and forgot all the
hardships. Sometimes the staff at the building not only did not allow us to hand
out the fliers but also said really bad things to us. We felt angry and that we
had been treated unfairly. But our handing out the fliers is walking around and
suffering, and being scolded is just to eliminate the karma. So day after day, after
thousands upon thousands of fliers, we've already distributed more than 100,000
fliers.
Master said at the "Nordic Fa Conference": "For Dafa
disciples, Consummation is the conclusion of cultivation, and Fa-rectification
is the great responsibility history has bestowed upon you during the
Fa-rectification period." In the poem "Rectifying the Colossal
Firmament," Master said, "How could the evil run rampant
any longer? Every single being's volition is fully revealed. How could any being
be outside this calamity? I behold with a smile all of the Gods being
unwise." With the continual deepening of the Fa-rectification process and
after I came back from 2001 Dafa Experience Sharing Conference in Los Angeles in
February, I started to go to the Chinese Embassy in Japan to verify Dafa on a
daily basis. As the road in front of the Embassy is quite narrow, the police
only allow us to peacefully appeal in the way of standing silently, for 4 hours
continuously every day. I take my granddaughter to the Embassy every day to
verify Dafa. It has been more than half a year since February, but despite the
cold in early spring or the heat in summer, despite the snow and wind, the
burning sunlight and the pouring rain, I have continued every day. Of course
there were a lot of difficulties. In the morning I had to ride my bicycle from
home to the bus stop during peak time, and change buses along the way and walk
up and down many steps. With the growing child in the front and a stack of
fliers on my back, my kidneys were in pain and my legs were sore. I continued
every day because I know it is not only the issue of eliminating my own karma!
It is the great mission that we must fulfill as practitioners during the
Fa-rectification period. Clarifying the truth and exposing the evil is also to
save sentient beings. I also think about the suffering of our fellow
practitioners in China. Although they are being detained, beaten and tortured,
they still clarify the truth to people and do things for Fa-rectification with
no complaints at all. In contrast, what I have endured is nothing. My fellow
elderly female practitioners around me also struggle to the bus and come to the
embassy every day. Teacher said at the 2001 Canada Falun Dafa Cultivation
Experience Sharing Conference, "It's hard, so your mighty virtue is
displayed; it's hard, and so it's a good opportunity to establish your mighty
virtue. Remarkable! Since you are cultivators, even though it's hard you should
do even better."
Once it rained immediately after I arrived at the embassy, but other
practitioners had not arrived yet, I was so worried because I couldn't unfurl
the banner with the child in my arms. I put the child into the stroller, but the
rain kept dribbling off her head. I had a look at the child, and took a look at
the banner which reads "Falun Dafa is good," and said to her,
"Dear, I'm so sorry! Let your grandmother unfurl the banner first, it's
nothing for us to endure a little for Fa-rectification." The child looked
at me as if she understood what I had said, and nodded. At this time the police
came to ask me, "Isn't the child cold?" I said, "Thanks, it's
OK." But I was wet from head to feet. It was cold and windy, and I really
felt cold. Although I didn't say anything to the people on the pathway or to the
police, I verified with my behaviour that only people who practise Falun Dafa
would be able to endure such situations.
On another occasion, when I was hading out fliers, someone asked me,
"How much can you earn from handing out these with your child?" I
said, "It's free." She was surprised and said, "Free? You don't
earn money, is it true?" I replied, " Yes, it's true, I'm a volunteer.
The fliers were printed with money from our own pockets in order to let people
know the truth about Falun Gong. I was very ill in the past, but I became very
healthy after I started to practise Falun Gong. You see, I can stand for hours
with my child in my arms without feeling tired. Falun Gong is not what the
Chinese government reports." I told her that our Master wouldn't ask a cent
from us, his life was very simple and was totally different from what was
reported in China. I also told her that I had seen Master four times, he was really
very great and he taught us to be a good person and become an even better person
according to the principles of "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance," and
that it was wrong for the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. She then
asked me many questions and I gave her some Dafa materials and hoped that she
could understand it.
Some passersby said I was pitiful. A westerner did not understand when seeing
me; he went away but then came back to give me money. Some swore at me and said
I was stupid. Some even tore up the flier in front of me after accepting it and
sneered at me. I was not angry. On the contrary, I felt sorry for these people
because what they were against was the law of the universe, and their future
would be miserable. Master said in the article "Coercion Cannot Change
People's Hearts": "The steadfast, righteous thoughts of a cultivator
transcend all human understandings, transcend all human thinking, and can never
be understood by everyday people. At the same time, they cannot be changed by
everyday people, because humans are not able to change enlightened beings."
Since I continued to go to the embassy, there were many people who did not
understand and gossiped about me. At the beginning, even my husband also did not
understand very well, he only wished that I could practise at home and would not
go out to distribute flyers. When it rained he asked me, "Will you still go
to the embassy today?" I replied, "Yes, I will go." He was quite
angry but had to allow me to go after seeing my determined attitude. He also
said that I not only went out early in the morning and came back at night, but
also read the book after coming back; sometimes he didn't even have a chance to
speak a word with me in a day. I know although he spoke like that, he still
cared for me in his heart. So I explained to him, "We are a couple in the
ordinary society. You also know that you were so worried when I was ill before.
Now that all my illnesses are gone, I won't give up along the path of
cultivation. I wish you could cultivate together with me, and could understand
me."
Master said at the "Western US Cultivation Experience Sharing
Conference": "As a student, a cultivator, you do these things from the
perspective of benevolence as well. Inform people of the truth, tell them about
it--this is also offering people salvation." I am a practitioner, since I
can clarify the truth outside and verify the Dafa with people, I should also
clarify the truth at home and let them genuinely know about Dafa. I also told my
family that not only I did this, all the genuine practitioners were all doing
this as well. Every day I carry the child to go out to verify the Dafa, but I
tell my family stories about Dafa whenever there is a chance.
Several months later, my husband said, "Your Master is so amazing, he
has such a disciple like you, I admire that you have such strong
willpower." Sometimes he asked me as a little bit of a joke, "When
will you stop going to the embassy?" Before I answered, he replied to
himself, "You won't stop unless the Fa is verified, will you?" We all
laughed after this. I found he was also changing. Now he not only understands my
behaviour, but also supports me. As it has turned hot since June, he said,
"It's hot, leave the child at home, I will look after her." I was so
impressed because he had just finished his 12-hour night shift. I looked at him,
and he said, "In order for you to verify the Dafa, it's okay for me to
endure a little, you just go by yourself."
With the speeding up of the process of Fa-rectification, and the publishing
of Master's articles "Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are
Powerful," "Dafa is Indestructible" and "The Effect of
Righteous Thoughts," we have strengthened our righteous belief in the Fa.
Although they are over 60 years old, practitioners who come to the embassy every
day to verify the Dafa all said they would not stop coming until the day that
Dafa is verified.
Finally, I will close with Master's poem "The Great Enlightened"
from his book Hongyin, "Experience tens of thousands of
tribulations, two feet treading on thousands of demons; erect a palm, shaking
heaven and earth, in the air stands a giant Buddha."
