Some Vietnamese students in Houston University initiated a "Walk for the United States" event. It was scheduled on the campus on the morning of October 28, 2001.

Falun Gong practitioners in Houston learned about this event and realized that it was a great chance to clarify the truth to more people. Some practitioners arrived at the campus around 7:30 a.m. and demonstrated the exercises. Soon some Vietnamese students found out about the group practice and joined them. The peaceful exercises attracted many people who participated in the event.

At 8 a.m., the Mayor gave his speech. The walk started at 8:30 a.m. Falun Dafa practitioners were put at the front of the walk. Practitioners looked so outstanding holding the "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" banners and wearing the yellow Dafa sweat-shirts. They walked on the campus for 3 miles.

Afterwards, some practitioners stayed and distributed Dafa materials. Suddenly, about a dozen Chinese people came to the same hillside and started practicing a kind of Taichi with loud music. A female Vietnamese student came to us and said, "I don't like what they are practicing. I like Falun Gong."
