Kidnapping Cases Escalate on University Campuses in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province


(Clearwisdom.net) In the past year, many university faculty members, staff and students who are Falun Dafa practitioners in Guangzhou City, including those of the main university, South China University of Technology, were frequently kidnapped. Such cases have plagued the minds of their relatives, friends, colleagues and students with fear. The following is a list of the cases that I know about. I hope the relevant international anti-terrorism organizations will come to Guangzhou to investigate.

  1. Missing: Practitioner Jiang Wenyi, female, 37 years old, lecturer of the Architecture Department, South China University of Technology (SCUT)

    2. Date missing: Early October 2001.

    Location: SCUT Campus, Guangzhou City

    Suspected kidnappers: "610" office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] of Guangdong Province, the High Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province, "610" group of the SCUT campus security section The SCUT Party Committee Office, Tel: 86-20-8551 6860

  2. Missing: Practitioner Chen Feng, female 36 years old, lecturer of College of Transportation, SCUT

    3. Date missing: Early August 2001

    Location: SCUT Campus, on her way to work

    Suspected kidnappers: "610" office of Guangdong Province, the High Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province, "610" group of the SCUT campus security section The SCUT Party Committee Office, Tel: 86-20-8551 6860

  3. Missing: Practitioner Yang Wei, female, 30 years old, staff at the Architecture Department, SCUT. Yang's Tel: 86-20-8711 3650 (home)

    4. Date missing: Early July 2001

    Location: SCUT Campus

    Suspected kidnappers: "610" office of Guangdong Province, the High Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province, "610" group of the SCUT campus security section. An eyewitness called and reported that the head of the security section, Xu Qike, participated in the secret kidnapping.

  4. Missing: practitioner Tan Luping, female, about 40 years old, staff member at the College of Architecture, SCUT

    5. Date missing: Early July 2001

    Location: SCUT Campus

    Suspected kidnappers: "610" office of Guangdong Province, the High Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province, "610" group of the SCUT campus security section. An eyewitness called and reported that the head of the security section, Xu Qike, was involved in the secret kidnapping.

  6. Missing: Practitioner Xu Ming, female, over 40 years old, teacher of Guangzhou Normal School of Music

    7. Date kidnapped: July 17, 2001

    Location: Outside a hotel in Liwan District, Guangzhou City (previously reported on Clearwisdom Net)

    Place imprisoned: The brainwashing class in Guangzhou Law School

    Kidnappers: The administration chief Sun Kejian and other staff of Guangzhou Normal School; "610" office of Guangdong Province

  7. Missing: Practitioner Han Yizhe, teacher at the Chinese Language Department, South China Normal University

    8. Date kidnapped: Around February 2001

    Location: Campus of the South China Normal University, on the way to work

    Suspected kidnappers: "610" office of Guangdong Province, the High Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province, "610" group of the campus security section of South China Normal University

  8. Missing: Practitioner Xu Juhua, female, 40 years old, English teacher at Guangzhou Light Industry Technical School, Tel: 86-20-8723 6484 (home)

    9. Date missing: June of 2000 (her family still does not know where she is detained)

    Location: On campus, on her way to work

    Suspected kidnappers: "610" office of Guangdong Province, the High Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province

  9. Missing (1): Practitioner Mei Qianfang, female, 61 years old, associate professor of SCUT

    10. Missing (2): Practitioner Feng Jiansheng, female, 67 years old, retired teacher

    Date missing: February 2001, during the Chinese New Year

    Location: Guangzhou Railway Station

    Suspected kidnappers: "610" office of Guangdong Province, the High Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province, "610" group of the SCUT campus security section

    (Note: after the two practitioners were missing, the Secretary of the SCUT Party Committee announced at a conference that they were "missing." But three months later, they appeared in the brainwashing class held by the Higher Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province.)

  10. Missing: Practitioner Pan Xiaoping, female, 37 years old, Guangzhou Jinan University

Date missing: May14, 2001

Location: Jinan University laboratory

Suspected kidnappers: Jinan University Party Committee, Tel: 86-20-8522 1842, "610" office of Guangdong Province, the Higher Education Working Committee of Guangdong Province
