Remembering the Beijing Falun Dafa Press Conference on October 28, 1999

In October two years ago, some Falun Dafa practitioners from Beijing and other places successfully held a startling "China Falun Dafa Press Conference" in Moon River Holiday Village, Tongzhou District, Beijing by breaking through many obstacles. In order to let people know the truth of Falun Dafa, these practitioners cherished absolute sincerity to Dafa and stepped forward bravely during the most rampant time of the evil forces. Foreign News media including Hong Kong media reported the event positively. For the first time the press conference exposed the evil lies [of Jiang Zemin's government] and the brutal persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. The foreign reporters attending the press conference were touched by the braveness and firmness of the Falun Dafa practitioners. This is an incomparably magnificent feat on the journey of the cosmos' Fa-rectification.

The head of the evil forces was furious and ordered the highest-level special agent department to search and arrest Falun Dafa practitioners using high technology apparatus. Later some of the Falun Dafa practitioners that participated in the news release were arrested and illegally detained in the No.7 Detention Center (the highest level detention center [to imprison important offenders]). In Mid-February 2000, the Falun Dafa practitioners were illegally tried in Tongzhou District Court, Beijing. The practitioners were fearless in court and did not accept the accused labels put on them. They validated Dafa with their own experiences. However, the court sentenced the Falun Dafa practitioners to 5, 3.5, 3, 2, and 1 years in prison. They were escorted to their local counties for illegal imprisonment.

Based on reports from Clearwisdom.net, two of those Falun Dafa practitioners were tortured to death, including Cai Mingtao (an interpreter at the press conference) and Ding Yan, who exposed the brutal persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners.

The magnificent feat of the press conference inspired tens of thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners. The Fa-rectification began with great momentum.

Two years have passed since then. Dafa practitioners are doing better and better in clarifying the truth and exposing the crimes of Jiang Zemin's government. The Dafa practitioners in China have conquered various difficulties under the adverse environment and delivered truth-clarifying materials, cassettes, compact disks, and other materials to tens of thousands of homes. The Dafa practitioners in other countries have established Falun Dafa Radio Stations, TV stations, websites and newspapers with their skills. They tried their best to alleviate the pressure of Dafa practitioners in China. They have provided strong support for practitioners in China clarifying the truth of Dafa. The Teacher has endowed the Dafa practitioners with the saintly title of "Dafa particles" during the process of clarifying the truth thoroughly. In helping the Teacher to rectify the Fa, the Dafa practitioners are making good on their promises, made before history began.

The evil forces are going to be eliminated completely. Now they are in their final death throes. It is just as the Teacher said, " The evil ones should think twice about their flagrant savagery, when heaven and earth are bright again, down to the boiling cauldron they go." (The Chill of Autumn's Winds, Master Li's new article). Let us be more diligent, and more reasonable in going through the journey of Fa-rectification in the human world. Let us reach consummation as soon as possible, and return through following the Teacher!
