RELIEVING PRESSURE FOR PRACTITIONERS IN CHINA

Many city councils in New Jersey have recently passed resolutions that condemn the Chinese government's persecution of Falun Gong. New Jersey practitioners pointed out that in speeches for clarifying the truth and spreading the Fa to the government, we should think from the perspective of Fa, and touch kind people's hearts with "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance."

The French Foreign Minister expressed, in answering the queries put forward by congressmen, that the European Union (EU) has many times raised concern over the Chinese government's persecution of Falun Gong. France will side with the U.S. in the resolution against China's human rights issues.

Mr. McDermott, the Mayor of Westfield, New Jersey, sent a letter on October 12 to the Chinese Ambassador to the U.S., condemning the violation of human rights against Falun Gong by the Chinese government.

The township of Hanover, New Jersey passed a resolution on October 25 "to support Falun Gong, and condemn the violence and repression against Falun Gong practitioners in China."

U.S. congresswoman Marge Roukema sent a letter to Falun Gong practitioners, expressing that she will start the No.188 Congress Resolution, demanding that the Chinese government immediately stop torturing Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Don L. Weiss, Jr., the Mayor of the city of Dickson, Tennessee proclaimed October 24^th, as Falun Dafa Day.

On October 29, 2001 news from Canada, Ms. Colleen Beaumier, the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Members of Parliament, Scott Reid, Wendy Lill, Yvon Charbonneau, and Vice-President, National Council of Women of Canada, Shirley Brown attended the welcoming ceremony for walkers of the "SOS! Global RescueWalk in Ottawa" and made an appeal that China stop persecuting Falun Gong.

BREAKING THROUGH MAINLAND CHINA'S BLOCKAGE OF THE TRUTH ABOUT THE PERSECUTION

Between early January and October 29 of this year, over 41,500 people have published Solemn Declarations on Minghui Net. These people declared that their statements, written during the brainwashing done by Jiang Zemin's regime, are null and void. In addition, they expressed that they will resume their practice of Falun Dafa, and double their efforts in making amends for the losses that their wrong deeds have brought to their cultivation and Fa-rectification.

Three members of the same family in a certain city in Mainland China do not know anything about computers. Because of their righteous thoughts and wisdom as Falun Dafa practitioners, they can now easily go to Minghui Net and distribute news validating Dafa to local practitioners.

Early morning on October 22, 2001, Falun Dafa practitioners in Liaoning Province used three timed speakers to broadcast and expose several cases of conspiracy that were used by the partnership of Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan in the local detention center and the municipal government to incriminate Falun Gong. This shocked these evil people.

A Chinese practitioner who became homeless and destitute in Mainland China shared his experience in spreading the Fa to his relatives and friends. His parents, elder brother, elder sister and classmate learned about the truth and became sober-minded.

The Truth of Persecution

Lu Xinghua, the representative of Dehui City People Congress, was brutally force-fed to death in Dehui City, Jilin province. Five male prisoners held her to put a feeding tube into her nose. However, the pipe was inserted into her trachea and caused her to succumb in an agonizing death the next day.

Two teachers in Dehui City of Jilin Province, one was forced to become financially destitute and another was illegally sent to forced labor just because they are determined in practicing Falun Gong.

Wang Zhiqiang, a graduate student of Tsinghua University, disappeared in February this year in Beijing. Half a year later, his relative got a letter from a police station in Beijing, requesting money. Now the officers in the police station said Wang was taken to another place, no details of his whereabouts are known.

Tao Yao and other policemen in Longchiqiao police station in Hubei Province hang practitioners by handcuffs, spread Fengyoujing on eyes [Chinese medicine product that contains menthol and eucalyptus oil based herbal oil essence resulting in a hot burning when applied to one's sensitive parts], cruelly beat and use other vicious means to torture practitioners.

A police station in Baise City of Guangxi Province tortured Dafa practitioners by handcuffing them in a position that allowed them to neither stand nor sit. Moreover, no food was provided for two days, practitioners were deprived of sleep and not allowed to use the toilet.

The facts of about 50 Dafa practitioners in Lequn Town of Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province who were illegally detained, fined and searched home.

Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

A practitioner in China enlightened that: The "thought karma" has its root in what is called "concepts or notions." The thought karma can again strengthen the attached notions. We have to get rid of all attachments and old cosmic notions. Thus we leave no loophole for evil to take advantage of.

One night, two policemen went to a Dafa practitioner's home and wanted to arrest him. After an hour's battle of wisdom and courage, this practitioner resisted the police with his righteous thoughts. His wife praised him, saying that only the just and the kind people can be so righteous and strict.

Pengpeng, a nine-year-old practitioner, saw the Fa boat launched: There are already 50 million people on the boat, Teacher has been waiting to launch the dragon boat until another 30 million practitioners come up. Pengpeng and Shanshan's boats set off to pick up the last 20 million people. Their boats followed the Teacher's boat to the other bank.

Understanding: The power of us as an entity is the strongest and the most powerful. It is what the evil fears most. The evil persecution of Dafa appears as a whole, so that we must react as an entity. Understanding the concept that "we are integrated" is to meet the need of the whole process of Fa-rectification.

One Dafa practitioner used the historical story of the Tang Dynasty Buddhist monk Xuan Zang (600? - 664) [who spent over a dozen of years to obtain the scriptures by traveling to India] to make his father understand that: "Assistance Teacher in this world" is a historical mission for Dafa disciples. Teacher had sent Dafa to our door. It is our inevitable responsibility to validate Dafa.

One Falun Gong practitioner unfurled banner on Tiananmen Square during the Moon Festival [a reunion holiday in the Fall in China]. He shouted out "Falun Dafa is good! Restore the reputation of Dafa and restore the reputation of our Teacher!" He fulfilled his promise that was made ages ago.

Understanding: Righteous belief and firmness being solid as a rock is the kindness, and compassion, which is to safeguard the pure and magnificent future of the cosmos. It is never the same as personal stubbornness. In the face of great righteous belief, stubbornness is nasty and mean.

On October 27, large banners with messages such as "Restore the Reputation of Falun Dafa" and "Falun Dafa is Righteous" appeared all over a northeastern city. The banners could be seen in the city square, the International Trade Building and the Appeals Office. This greatly frightened the evil.

Recently, Dafa banners and flyers exposing the persecution and containing stories about evil meeting with evil appeared in over thirty streets in a city in southwest China.

On the afternoon of October 12, police from the Jinzhou District in Dalian City, Shandong Province broke into Dafa practitioner Li Xuan's home and arrested him. Li's parents went to appeal on his behalf but to no avail.

On September 9 of the lunar calendar, the day of the Chongyan Festival, a group of practitioners in Jilin Province successfully held a Fa conference. The atmosphere was solemn and serene. The practitioners were able to improve their understanding of the difference between individual cultivation and cultivation during Fa rectification.

Dozens of Falun Gong practitioners detained at the Shuangkou Labor Camp in Tianjin have been on a group hunger strike for over a month, protesting their unlawful detention and torture. Four practitioners have been sent to the Labor Camp of Ji County, notorious for its declaration that "(Falun Gong practitioners) beaten to death will amount to nothing." The guards there have handcuffed and shackled the Dafa practitioners.

On October 14, more than twenty Falun Gong practitioners went on hunger strike at the Jiutai Labor Camp in Jilin Province. In addition, they took off their labor camp uniforms and refused to work to protest their unlawful detention. Supervisors of the camp instructed inmates to use force to tie the uniforms onto the Dafa practitioners and further torture them.

In September, the Tanggu District Police Department in Tianjin arrested two elderly practitioners who were resolute in practicing Falun Gong. The police confiscated their bank savings and authorization cards for picking up retirement funds, among other possessions. Personnel at the Shuanqiaozi Neighborhood Administration Office in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province extorted money from Falun Gong practitioners under all sorts of pretexts.

Since September, the Political and Judiciary Committee and the police department of Ma City in Hubei Province encouraged offices at county and township levels, and all civilian soldiers (Note: civilian soldiers are armed civilians who have received military training provided by the government) to cooperate with the police substations to keep Falun Gong practitioners under surveillance, follow them, search their homes, and confiscate their possessions.

Three Falun Gong practitioners in Guangdong Province wrote solemn statements declaring that what they did while being tortured was null and void. They posted these statements in employee dormitories, grocery markets and other public areas. These statements effectively exposed the truth about the persecution.

A list of the perpetrators of persecution in Guangzhou: Li Xuezhen, Political Committee member and Director of the Chatou Labor Camp, Huang Yu, a camp supervisor, and Zheng Haiyan, the Chairman the Camp Oversight Committee, have all directly participated in torture of Falun Gong practitioners.

The Security Chief at the Guangzhou Public Health Bureau with the surname of You has sent many Falun Gong practitioners to mental hospitals.

You Zhuangnan and Zhang (female, in her thirties, a bank employee) from Guangzhou have enlightened along an evil path. Together with Jin and Wang from Anshan City, Liaoning Province, they have committed crimes against Dafa by siding with the evil.

Sixty-seven practitioners from Guangdong Province issued solemn statements declaring their actions as a result of forced brainwashing null and void. They have once again dedicated themselves to the safeguarding and rectification of the Fa, redoubling their efforts in clarifying the truth. These practitioners posted their solemn statements in public areas, exposing the criminal actions of the local officials and greatly frightening the evil.

The guards at the Masanjia Labor Camp are continuing their cruel measures to torture Falun Gong practitioners including using electric batons, hitting them with sticks with tiny spikes, and ordering inmates to beat practitioners. They have also thrown practitioners into piles of snow until they passed out from the freezing cold. However, all of this still cannot make these practitioners give up their belief.

Song Guoliang from the Police Substation at Shengyang County in Dehui City recently imposed fines on Falun Gong practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal. Song is currently being investigated for possible violations. Wang, a local resident, was hit by a car recently. This was retribution for tearing down Dafa flyers.

Bad things have happened one after another to people in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in one company. Directors Chen and Tian were removed from their posts. Gan and Niu were fired for embezzling company funds and accepting bribes. Zhou was removed from his post, and he was also diagnosed with lung cancer, forcing the removal of a part of his lungs.

World Daily reported on October 28, 2001, Jiangsu Province, an important grain production province, is currently suffering from a rarely seen autumn drought. Huabei plain, a barn in China, also lacks water. American experts warn that Mainland China will not be able to grow enough grains to meet its own needs.

Those practitioners who had made mistakes have now completely regained their clear mind. They no longer cooperate with the evil nor satisfy the evils' requests. Instead, they are exposing the evil's persecution by telling people their own experiences.

An open letter addressed to everyday people: allowing or ignoring evil is helping evil. Evil ones are persecuting Falun Gong today; they may persecute you tomorrow. If you stop evil by upholding justice and conscience, you are saving yourself too!

An open letter addressed to the Mainland China Police Department, National Security Department, and "6-10 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.): It is a heavenly made principle, which has never changed in thousands of years, that good will be rewarded with good and evil will be met with evil. Policeman Li Bingzhe suffered a cerebral hemorrhage after he beat a Dafa practitioner. In Kunming city, a policeman broke his leg in a car accident after he had kicked down a Falun Gong practitioner who was in his sixties. A university professor has fully recovered from his chronic diabetes without any medical treatment after he said a few fair words for Falun Gong in his lecture.

World Daily reported news on October 29, 2001, the infection and incidence of AIDS continues to increase rapidly in Mainland China. Currently, intravenous injection of drugs are the major source of AIDS transmission in Mainland China. An official from the Health Department has announced that the number of people who are engaged in homosexuality is surprisingly large.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

Falun Gong practitioners in the Mid U.S. told people the truth about Falun Gong at the U.S. Midwest Amnesty International Yearly Conference from October 19 to October 21, 2001.

Taiwan Falun Gong practitioners completed a 12-day "Fa-Rectification Trip Across 6 European Countries".

Prior to the Human Rights Dialogue between Australia and China, Australian Falun Gong practitioners went to the Australian Foreign Ministry to appeal and to tell the truth. On "Amnesty Organization Action Day" organized by Amnesty International, Falun Gong practitioners read aloud the list of over 300 Falun Gong practitioners who have died under the persecution. They also exhibited pictures of some of the tortures.

Mingbao reported on October 28, 2001, that more than 200 Falun Gong practitioners gathered at Victoria Park and had a group practice there, urging the Chinese government to stop persecuting Falun Gong.

Three books of Falun Gong practitioners' cultivation stories have been published and distributed by Golden Lotus Flower Publishing Company.

CULTIVATION EXPERIENCES

A female Falun Gong practitioner benevolently told people the truth about Falun Gong while she was carrying her baby. Her act moved a kind-hearted Russian woman.

A Russian Falun Gong practitioner's understanding: View everything within the Fa. Use the unshakeable righteous thoughts cultivated from Dafa to eliminate the evil forces that are destroying lives and the cosmos.

A Mainland China Dafa practitioner's understanding: Practicing Dafa openly does not mean willingly being arrested by evil. Instead, we should use a true Dafa disciple's great image to face everything that everyday people do from the standpoint of Dafa.

A U.S. Florida practitioner: Falun Dafa changed our whole family's body and mind. All the disease symptoms of our couples and our parents disappeared. Our father's face muscle spasms lasted 40 years. After one year of Falun Gong practice, his face miraculously stopped having spasms.
