The Persecution That I Have Suffered

(Clearwisdom.net) I was lucky to obtain the invaluable Fa of the universe in 1998. Since then I have been strict with myself according to "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance." My mind and body had been purified only a few days after I studied the Fa. The diseases, such as rheumatic heart disease, stomach disease and severe neurasthenia, were gone only three days after I studied the Fa.

Since July 22, 1999, Jiang Zemin outlawed Dafa. I didn't understand how a government could be afraid of people becoming healthy? Is there any other country that fears its citizens for being good people?

With a peaceful and kind heart I went to Beijing three times to appeal. I hoped our government leaders would get to know what kind people we were. Policemen illegally arrested me in the house that I rented in Beijing. More than 100 fellow practitioners stayed there. About 70 to 80 practitioners who refused to tell the enforcers their addresses and names were forcibly sent to Beijing's No.13 Department detention center. Because we did not tell them our addresses and names, the police beat us and forced us to stay in the torture position called "riding an airplane" (In this torture, the head is bent down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands are pulled up and held up to the highest point). I was tortured this way for 6 to 7 hours. When we no longer could hold up our hands, the police beat us with iron sticks. My hands were beaten so badly they became bruised and swollen. The police also forced us to half squat (squat down with legs apart and both arms raised forward parallel to the ground) and pricked our fingers with big needles. One practitioner named Jin Gang (pseudonym) was beaten and tortured day and night. He was not allowed to sleep. The police claimed that, to begin with, they would torture Jin Gang if they wanted to get our addresses and names.

Later, as we practiced the exercises, the police not only beat us but also put handcuffs and shackles on us, which are usually only put on convicts awaiting execution. They did not unlock them even when we used the bathroom or went to sleep. At mealtime, others fed us. We were only allowed to sleep 1 to 2 hours at night. The food was moldy. After enduring torture like this for more than 20 days, they sent us to a mental hospital for further persecution. The doctor in the hospital could not understand why we did not secretly practice the exercises at home. I asked him, "Why do good people have to stay at home in secret while the vicious people can walk on the street with dignity?"

I was detained in the mental hospital for 4 days. The guard ordered the doctor to force us to take the same medicine that is given to patients who suffer from mental illness. After I had been detained over 40 days, people from my residential committee's local government's liaison office in Beijing recognized me and escorted me back to the local detention center. I was illegally detained there for 15 days and then to an extended detention term for another 5 days. Afterwards, I was illegally sentenced to one- year of forced labor and sent to the Heizuizi Labor Camp in Changchun City.

In the labor camp I was assigned to Group No.1. Liu Hu, the head of the group, shocked me with an electric baton because I went on a hunger strike to protest. Later on, I was electrically shocked many times by Liu Hu, by Guard Li and Guard Wang who was in charger of "culture class," and also by director Lian because I practiced Falun Gong. One day, all practitioners in Group No.1 recited LunYu [introduction to Zhuan Falun] together. All the officials in Group No.1, including Yang, who was in charge of taking pictures, and director Lian, ordered practitioners to stand in a line. They shocked every practitioner with an electric baton. Wei Fengju was shocked on the chest in the area of the heart. Li Shuqin was shocked in the mouth and face. Her mouth was full of blisters and swollen, and her face had running yellow fluid due to the electric shock. Shang Dongxia was locked in a small cell. The vicious officials threatened that if she did not write the "separation statement" (a statement declaring that he/she give up practicing Falun Gong) she would be locked up all the time. Every day, they just gave her half a bowl of food. The electric shock abuse made Li Qinghui lose control of her bladder. Guard Yang slapped my face ruthlessly, while guard Ye kicked me. Later, they pulled me into the guard office. Guard Wang and Li shocked my head and fingers with a high voltage baton. I fell to the ground many times during the torture. Once I got up they continued to shock me. All kind-hearted people, please have a look, this is the so-called "education and help" system that Jiang Zemin declared.

Practitioners in Group No.1 were forced to work overtime, 17 to 20 hours a day, and were allowed only 1 to 2 hours of sleep. Sometimes they were not allowed to sleep at all. They ordered common criminals such as prostitutes, drug addicts and ruffians to take turns monitoring us and did not allow us to talk with each other. In the winter, practitioners took showers with icy water. The guard did not allow practitioner to report the persecution to their families. Officials in the labor camp held brainwashing classes. None of the practitioners who refused to write the "separation statement" were allowed to sleep at night. Those practitioners were also electrically shocked. They extended the practitioners' detention terms over and over and did not allow family members to visit. Daily, they broadcast the fabricated materials slandering Master and Dafa. We were abused and mistreated in this labor camp, but we survived the vicious and ruthless torture.
