A Partial Account of the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in Jinshantun District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Jinshantun is a small forestry bureau that has a population of fifty thousand people. Among them, there are about one thousand people cultivating Falun Dafa. Since July 1999, the local officials have launched a frenzied and brutal persecution of the kind-hearted people who believe in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Over forty practitioners were illegally sent to the labor camp after they went to appeal in Beijing and insisted on their belief in Falun Dafa. One female practitioner named Shi Yinghua was tortured until she was disabled and then sent to a mental hospital. Another practitioner, Lu Chenglin, male, was tortured to death in the Yichun Labor Camp after he was illegally sentenced to forced labor (Clearwisdom.net reported his case before: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/3/1/5932.html). Nearly one hundred practitioners were illegally detained for periods of fifteen days to three months. They also received maltreatment and torture from the brutal policemen. One practitioner was forced to leave home and wander about, while dozens of practitioners' homes were illegally confiscated. Hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners are often harassed by the vicious policemen. More than one hundred practitioners were forced to pay between five hundred to five thousand Yuan [the average urban worker's salary is 500 Yuan a month] of so-called "guarantee money" and fines. The majority of the practitioners' identity cards were illegally confiscated. Now, any practitioner who wants to leave home has to ask for leave and the police's permission. In Jinshantun a citizen's basic human rights are severely violated.

In June 2001, Falun Dafa practitioner Li Yanrong, female, received a phone call, and, since the police suspected that it might have something to do with Falun Gong, she was illegally detained for seventeen days. During the interrogation, the deputy director of the Public Security Bureau, Dong Delin and several other evil policemen struck her violently, kicking her until she suffered incontinence of feces and urine. After she was released from the Detention Center, Li went to appeal to officials at the district level. However, the bureaucrats protected one another. Falun Gong practitioners have no place to go to appeal.

In June 2001, Falun Dafa practitioners, Zheng Dejia and his daughter, Zheng Hongli were illegally detained for nearly three months because policemen searched their home and found truth-clarifying materials. During the detention, the policeman Niu Lijun was very brutal to Zheng Dejia. He beat Zheng up, and covered him all over with cuts and bruises. Zheng's family has many times appealed to the higher authorities, but the policeman Niu is still on the job.

In July 2001, when the couple Guan Shuling and Xiang Daping, both practitioners, went to the Public Security Bureau to ask for the return of their ID cards, they were illegally detained for fifteen days by the Section Chief of the Political and Security Section, Zhang Xingguo.

On September 28, 2001, Liu Chunli, Sun Wenzhong, Liang Yuzheng, and Lu Dianfeng were illegally arrested and detained for fifteen days when they were sharing experiences together in a place that was broken into by policemen. During the illegal interrogation, Sun Wenzhong and Liang Yuzheng were brutally beaten by the policemen at Kanda Police Substation. Sun Wenzhong's home was at the same time illegally confiscated.

On October 18, 2001, Li Changsheng was illegally arrested when he was clarifying the truth to the people of the world.

On October 19, 2001, practitioner Fu Yanming was illegally arrested and his home was confiscated.

On October 22, 2001, practitioners Chen Feng and his wife were at the same time illegally arrested and their home was confiscated. It is also known that Chen Feng's wife had been tortured with the "Tiger Bench" during her interrogation.

In addition, the Section Chief of the Political and Security Section, Zhang Xingguo extorted more than ten thousand Yuan from practitioners and their families (this amount has been verified; still more money has been extorted by him from practitioners that has not been verified.)

We admonish sternly all policemen and government officials at different levels: sharpen your vigilance. Don't be Jiang's hired thugs any more. Stop persecuting the kind-hearted people who follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. It is an unchangeable heavenly principle that good will be rewarded with good, and evil will be met with evil.
