Eliminating the Pursuit of Comfort is an Extremely Important Step in the Process of Fa-rectification for Overseas Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) Life in European countries is affluent and comfortable, which easily creates people's pursuit of comfort. This is exactly a part of the layer upon layer arrangements systematically made by the old forces. Practitioners in China, facing the evil, steadfastly step forward to validate the Fa, and have "demonstrated that the Great Enlightened Beings are performing magnificent feats before they are born." ("Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference") Equally great is that overseas practitioners have stepped out from humanness from comfortable lives that tend to erode one's will and encourage indolence, and have clarified the truth untiringly.

If we all eradicate the pursuit of comfort, then the old forces will lose an important tool to control us, a tool they have been using to interfere with the Fa-rectification process in European countries.

The pursuit of comfort may lead to enlightening along an evil path. All in all, the pursuit of comfort's purpose is to maintain one's easy lifestyle or to interfere with it as little as possible. Distributing flyers and newspapers on the street? One says, "We won't reach out to many people this way. It is better to work on the media and clarify the truth to governmental departments. But this type of media and government work has higher requirements and it is not that easy, so it will take some time before one can make any breakthroughs." So he then says, "I'm thinking of a more effective way at the moment." The idea of achieving more with less effort itself does not give cause for much criticism. But if one is attached to this and uses it as an excuse to not participate in the so-called "time and energy consuming, ineffective work" while no other better ways of doing thing are being worked out, and one becomes less strict with oneself, then one will be easily manipulated by the pursuit of comfort. We must be vigilant.

In fact, the phrase, "time and energy consuming, ineffective work" is also a human notion. It is not that we do not have numerous and varied ways of doing things, or that our methods are not good in doing Fa- rectification work. The problem lies in the restraints and obstruction of the evil forces to the Fa-rectification process, which have caused difficulties in our work. However, as practitioners, we completely oppose all the arrangements of the old forces. If we take the interference and destruction of the evil as a foregone conclusion in our minds, then they will have an opening to exploit. When we completely oppose, in our minds, all the interference in the Fa-rectification, then such interference will begin to be eliminated.

As Fa-rectification practitioners, Teacher has granted us the ability at present to eradicate the evil in other dimensions and to participate in the Fa-rectification in a broader sense. When we eliminate the pursuit of comfort and truly take actions, then we will be one step further in assimilating to Dafa, in participating in the Fa-rectification and in fulfilling the vows made ages ago. This is where the utmost greatness lies.
