Falun Gong Press Conference: Canadians Walk 750 Miles to Ask U.N., Kofi Annan, for Intervention to Rescue Falun Gong Practitioners in China
November 13, 2001 NEW YORK, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Falun Dafa Information Center -- More than a month ago, four Canadian Falun Gong practitioners left
Toronto/Montreal to begin a 750-mile trek to the United Nations in New York City as part of a worldwide "SOS! Global Rescue Walk." Other practitioners are walking simultaneously in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. The walkers and their supporters will arrive at the Chinese consulate
(42nd
St. and West Side Hwy) at 11:00 am for a press conference at the United
Nations, November 14, 2001, and then will complete their journey with a
symbolic walk to the United Nations building on the East side.

Secretary General, Kofi Annan, signatures that were gathered along
their
journey through the cities and towns of Eastern North America. In a letter accompanying the signatures, the walkers are calling for an
immediate and unconditional release of all the illegally imprisoned
Falun
Gong practitioners that are confined to labor camps, prisons,
re-education
classes and mental institutions in China. The press conference will include statements by the walkers and their
supporters, as well as public delivery of the walkers' letter to Kofi
Annan.
