Illegally Detained Practitioners Suffering in "Solitary Compartments" in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp Urgently Need Rescuing

(Clearwisdom.net) Lin Yongmei, a 33-year-old female practitioner illegally detained in Wanjia Forced Labor Camp, was acting as the representative of other practitioners in the labor camp on the morning of June 26^th, 2001 as she went to discuss the deaths of three fellow practitioners with guard Wu Jinying. The evil guard, who believed that Lin Yongmei was responsible for inciting the other detained practitioners, stopped her as she was on her way to breakfast and sent her to a "solitary compartment" instead. [Note: also known as "small cells," these are extremely small compartments that are 2 feet square and 5 feet high. Persons are usually handcuffed while inside so they can neither sit nor stand. The solitary compartment is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served, rats run around during the night, and the stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.]

In the solitary compartment, all of Lin Yongmei's rights were taken away, including the right to talk. The tiny compartment where she was forced to live is dark and damp. The sores that covered her body and oozed constantly remain with her even now.

Twelve other practitioners were also forced into solitary compartments on the same day as Lin Yongmei. These practitioners have also suffered severely as a result of being imprisoned in the compartments. Some remain unconscious, some have lost their memory and have difficulty breathing, and some are unable to walk steadily.

In order to actively eliminate the evil, Lin Yongmei staged a hunger strike beginning on July 4^th. She wanted to stop further use of the solitary compartments, and to request an interview with the camp leader and write an appeal. Four other practitioners also went on hunger strike with her. In response to the hunger strike, Wanjia Forced Labor Camp escalated the persecution of Dafa practitioners and took away their normal break time. In addition, practitioners who wanted to appeal and write letters were forbidden to have paper and pens. As of now, Lin Yongmei and other Dafa practitioners like Zhang Guirong and Zhu Chunrong continue to be detained in the solitary compartments in Team VII of Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. They have been suffering severely in these cells for at least four to five months.

We hope that people who respect human rights and who are kind and just will extend their hands to urgently rescue these practitioners, resolve the crisis in China, and help stop the evil!
