Indulging Oneself is Equal to Conniving With the Evil

(Clearwisdom.net) Before New Year's Day, 2001, I went to Beijing to safeguard Dafa. In Tiananmen Square, I shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good!" Afterwards, I was arrested. During my detention, I held a hunger strike to protest; additionally, I kept practicing the sitting meditation. At that time, to avoid the brutal beatings by police officers, I only held the Jieyin position but did not do strengthening of supernormal powers while I was meditating. After a seventeen-day hunger strike, I was released unconditionally. After that, whenever I meditated, I was unwilling to do the movements of strengthening supernormal powers. After performing the hand signs, I always held my hands in Jieyin.

This situation lasted quite a long time. Later on, I realized that I was conniving with my demonic nature and must change this state. Once while doing the sitting meditation, I thought, "The person who is unwilling to strengthen supernormal powers is not me; this is demonic inference, I must eliminate it." At the beginning of strengthening supernormal powers, my arms were very sore and it seemed difficult to hold the strengthening position for even one minute. Yet I was clear in my mind--all this was demonic interference and karma. I must eliminate it. Seven or eight minutes passed, I heard a trembling voice on the right top of my head saying, "I have to endure! But I am afraid that I can't endure any more." I laughed lightly, and said in my mind, "It's time for you to die." I persisted with full confidence. Later, my arms gradually became warm, and finally became light. From then on, I haven't had the idea that I don't want to strengthen supernormal powers any more.

This experience enlightened me: as Dafa practitioners, and during this solemn period of Fa-rectification, we must keep clear minds, and measure ourselves strictly with high standards; otherwise, even the slightest slacking-off will be taken advantage of by demons, because demons will seize every opportunity to do evil. This will result in us unwittingly protecting the evil. This reminds me that some practitioners do not want to send forth righteous thoughts and they have even thought that it is not kind to let the evil people receive retribution. There are some other practitioners who don't want to do truth clarification work. I think all these are not thoughts of their true selves, but acquired, warped notions. They should eliminate these things and not allow them to exist in their dimensions. Master said, "Any object, including the human body, coexists with and is open into the spatial planes of the cosmic space at the same time." "The human body corresponds to the space outside it." (Zhuan Falun) If we practitioners can't get rid of the warped thoughts, won't the old forces existing in our dimension be protected? Where on earth is the resistance that comes from the practitioners themselves? It may be practitioners' own degenerate notions.

Only if we clearly distinguish our true selves are we truly responsible to Dafa and to our cultivation. Master said, "Cultivation and Fa-rectification are serious. Whether you are able to treasure this period of time is, in fact, a matter of whether you can be responsible to yourselves. This period of time will not last long, but it can forge the mighty virtue of magnificent Enlightened Beings, Buddhas, Daos, and Gods of different levels, and even Lords of different levels. It can also destroy overnight a cultivator who has reached a really high level but who has become less strict with himself." (Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples)
