On October 22 and 23, 2001, over 100 Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan, and some practitioners from Argentina, Canada, Britain, Germany, and Sweden participated in the SOS! Urgent Rescue activities in Madrid, Capital of Spain, organized by local practitioners.

On October 21, 2001, there was a regular scheduled group exercise in the famous Retiro Park near Puerto De Alcal. Some practitioners demonstrated the exercises and distributed flyers to passers-by inquiring information.

On October 22, 2001, a demo of Falun Gong exercises was held on Espana Square in Madrid's downtown area. After a press conference, a parade started at 12:00 p.m. from Atocha Renfe. Two hours later, the parade arrived at a very busy tour site known as, Puerto de Sol. Many reporters asked for more information on the parade, Falun Gong and the activities of "SOS! Urgent: Rescue the Falun Gong Practitioners in China". After lunch, the practitioners divided into small groups and distributed flyers as well as showed Falun Gong exercises.

In the evening, the practitioners held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Embassy. Police were friendly and impressed with the peace and sincerity of the Falun Dafa practitioners.

On the second day, there were more activities showing the exercises and distributing flyers. In the afternoon, three practitioners handed over a letter and some materials to the Chinese Embassy. A kind staff person opened the door and received the materials for the first time. We felt the might of Dafa and the power of righteous thought!

The first large-scale Falun Dafa activity in Spain finished satisfactorily. Several thousands of flyers were distributed. Many people became to know the truth of Falun Dafa and the persecution in China.
