Two Cases of Teachers Being Persecuted in Dehui City, Jilin Province

Case 1: Lu Qingshan

Address: Fifth community, Hongqi street, Zhaoyang Village, Dehui City, Jilin Province

Working Unit: Zhaoyang Village, Nangang High School

In September 1999, Lu Qingshan was detained by the police for 53 days because he went to Beijing to appeal. He was removed from his position as the provost and was suspended until March 2000. His salary was withheld for 8 months (August 1999 - March 2000); the amount withheld was about 5,000 Yuan RMB. It was unclear where this money went, but it's known that the division of education gave the order.

In August 2000, because Lu had two copies of the Falun Gong truth clarifying literature at home, he was illegally taken to the Zhaoyang Village Police Station. The police threatened to send him to Dehui City for detention. Later on his work unit bailed him out at an expense of 1,500 Yuan (the police asked for 3,000 Yuan at the beginning). At that time the school paid the money up front for him. The money was given to the police station chief Song Chao.

On March 22, 2001 his home was searched by the Zhaoyang Police Station. On the 23rd, two policemen from Zhaoyang Police Station deceived him and led him to the police station. They told him that they would like to discuss something with him. He was then taken to Dehui City for detention. He was illegally sentenced to one year in a labor camp. He did not pass the physical examination in the labor camp and was rejected. He was taken back to the Dehui Detention Center. A few days later his family had to pay 2,000 Yuan bail in order to have him released. After he went home, he resisted the brainwashing class by leaving his home and living and wandering around outside.

Case 2: Sun Yue

Address: Fifth community, Hongqi street, Zhaoyang Village, Dehui City, Jilin Province

Working Unit: Zhaoyang Village, Shuangfeng Elementary School

In September 1999, because he went to Beijing to appeal, he was detained by the police for 55 days. He was suspended for half a year and his salary was withheld for 8 months (August 1999 - March 2000); the amount withheld was about 5,000 Yuan. It was unclear where this money went, but it is known that Dehui City Division of Education gave the order.

In August 2000, he was brought to the police station without any reason. The police also wanted to detain him. Later on a colleague paid 1,500 Yuan and bailed him out (they asked for 3,000 Yuan at the beginning). The money was given to the police station chief Song Chao.

On March 22, 2001 his home was searched by the Zhaoyang Police Station. On March 23, two unlawful police officers deceived him and brought him to the police station. He was then taken to Dehui City for detention. After serving the detention period he was illegally sent to Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai area to serve a one-year sentence. He is still illegally detained at the labor camp.
