Meng Xianjun, female, 27 years old, was sent to Shuangcheng's local government's liaison office in Beijing. She had gone to Beijing to appeal to the government for the right to practice Falun Gong on November 9^th, 2000. Jiang and Xia who worked for the liaison office took 160 Yuan (translator' note: the average urban worker's monthly salary is 500 Yuan) away from her. Zhang Guofu extorted another 2,000 Yuan from her, after she was sent back to the 610 Office in Shuangcheng City. On December 23^rd, 2000 she went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Dafa and was illegally detained in the No 2 custodial center in Shuangcheng. She was released after hunger striking for eight days, and her family paid 130 Yuan to the custodial center. On February 15^th 2001, Zhang Shiyao, vice president of Shuangcheng 610 Office, and another person (a man, about 35 years old,) went to Meng Xianjun' s home and deceived her in order to get her to go to the 610 office. They said they "just wanted to talk". After talking, they unlawfully detained her in the No 2 custodial center in Shuangcheng for 37 days and extorted about 300 Yuan from her to "pay for meals". Zhang Guofu extorted an additional 5, 000Yuan from her.

Han Yaqin, female, 49 years old, was seized after she went to Beijing to peacefully appeal. She was unlawfully detained in Shuangcheng's local government's liaison office in Beijing for two days. During that time, she was handcuffed to a table for six hours, and illegally detained for 19 days at the Shuangcheng police department. Jiang from Shuangcheng Local Government Liaison Office, and Shuangcheng police department's Zhang Guofu extorted a total of 164 Yuan from her. Han was arrested on July 19^th, 2000 after she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was detained in the Shuangcheng Local Government Liaison Office in Beijing for six days. Then she was illegally detained in Shuangcheng police department for another 50 days. Zhang Guofu extorted 2400 Yuan from her. Shuangcheng Local Government Liaison Office's Wang Shengli took another 8 Yuan from her.

Liu Yanqing, male, is 46 years old. The local government and local police station harassed his family. One day, Fu Chaoyang and Yuan Yongfu from the local police station searched his house and confiscated Dafa materials. Videotapes, audiotapes, and books were stolen. In order to validate Dafa, Liu Yanqing went to Beijing on May 27^th 2000 to appeal to the government for the right to practice Falun Gong. He was sent to Shuangcheng Local Government Liaison Office in Beijing after protesting on Tiananmen Square. Wang Chengli stole 15 Yuan from Liu's pocket. Liu was sent back to Shuangcheng Custodial Center. He was illegally detained for 19 days. One hundred and eighty Yuan was extorted from him. This was claimed as 'payment for meals' by the Custodial Center's President. He was sent to the village "transforming class" for 3 days. He went to Beijing again on November 3^rd, 2000 to appeal again. On the morning of November 5^th 2000, government personnel spotted him on Tiananmen Square when he was watching the flag raising ceremony. Liu Yufeng beat and kicked him and sent him back to the Shuangcheng's Local Government Liaison Office in Beijing. Liu Yufeng said, "Give him a meal; we wouldn't want him to die from hunger." Liu Yanqing was detained in Room 8 of the Shuangcheng Custodial Center and then transferred to Room 3. He was tortured all kinds of different ways by the prisoner Liu Zhiguo. He was tortured so seriously that he became very weak and fainted during the time assigned for prisoners to use the rest room. On November 8^th, the policeman sent him to Wanjia Labor Camp. The labor camp refused to take him. Yang Hongqiao from Shuangcheng Custodial Center was so mad that he beat and shouted at Liu Yanqing. He was sent to Yimianpo (another custodial center) the next day. Eighty Yuan was extorted from Liu Yanqing and another practitioner. Liu Yanqing was beaten twice by the guard, He. Liu Yimianpo endured inhumane treatment for 21 days. He was sent to Shuihua on January 18th 2001. He was told by the policeman there, "If you don't give up cultivation, then you're detention will be extended. During his detention, Zhang Qing from the Nongfeng Village government tried to secretly sell the land that Liu Yanqing owned. Zhang Qing forced Liu Yanqing to transfer 4,434 Yuan to himself. Liu Yanqing was released on May 23rd 2001.

Zhao Shijun is a 53 years old male. After July 20th 1999, He Donghui from the village government went to Zhao's home and confiscated his books. Zhao went to Beijing to appeal. Ma Guangru and Liu Yufeng from the county government sent him to prison for 52 days. He endured beatings, verbal abuse, and torture. He was released after Wang Zhanwen from Shuangcheng custodial center extorted 485 Yuan from him. He could walk home by himself, however they forced him to pay 100 Yuan for a ride. Zhao was illegally detained for 72 days in brainwashing class that the county government set up. Zhao lost his freedom and his family had a big loss in revenue because nobody was at home. The Village team extorted 2,238 Yuan from Zhao. Because Zhao did not co-operate with them, Zhang Qing led a group of people to go to his home. They were going to take a female pig, which was going to have a litter. Zhao reasoned with the other people and they all thought he was right and left. Zhang left too because nobody helped him to commit wrongdoing. In the spring, Zhang went to his home and requested his land. Zhao said that he did not owe the government any taxes, so he was going to keep his land. Zhang Qing ordered the village team to destroy the crops in the field, but they did not obey. Zhang Qing attempted to use all possible means to persecute him.

Liu Zhixiu is a 30-year-old female. Right before the spring festival the policemen from Zhaojia police subdivision attempted to deceive Xiao Yiali, Zhao Dongmei, and Liu Zhixiu. The policeman asked them if they would continue to practice and they all answered that they would, so they were sent to Shuangcheng No 2 Custodial Center without any valid reason. On December 12th 2000, the Shuangcheng 610 Office extorted 1,000 Yuan from her father-in-law, Guo Yongtian. In the custodial center, she was doing Falun Gong exercises with fellow practitioners Xu Shuhua, Huang Xianzhen, Xu Shuhua and Guo Mingxia. The president of the custodial center, Ciu, led two or three inmates and the guard Han who was on duty that day to kick the practitioners and curse them with dirty words. Huang Yanzhen had not taken food for over 10 days (she was over 60 years old) and Guo Mingxia had not taken food for three or four days. The villains were flustered and exasperated. They grabbed the practitioners' hair and slammed their heads against the wall. Huang Yianzhen lost a big tuft of hair as a result of the incident. The practitioners that were unlawfully detained in room 9 were forced to sit on the cement floor. They did the exercises and some of them were beaten badly. In order to resist the evil behavior, 40 practitioners went on a group hunger strike. The custodial center, using armed policemen, forced them to take food twice during the hunger strike. Every practitioner was force fed with salt and soymilk. An evil guard with the last name of Du, said madly, " We will stop persecuting you whenever you start to eat. We will see who can win." Another evil guard with the nickname Wang Huoya saw the practitioners vomit and said, "I am so happy today." On April 3^rd 2001, the Shuangcheng 610 Office extorted 2,000 Yuan from Liu Zhixiu's mother, Jiang Guixia.

Liu Yanling is a 65 years old male. In June 2000 he went to Beijing to validate Dafa. He was illegally detained for 2 days by the Beijing Railroad Police Station. Later, he was transferred to the Shuangcheng Local Government Liaison Office in Beijing. Liu was unlawfully detained there for two days. Next, he was sent back to Shangcheng detention center by the village president, Yin Yuxin, and the village accountant, Bai Yongfu. He was illegally detained at the detention center for 15 days. Zhang Goufu, from Shuangcheng Police Department extorted 600 Yuan from him. Yin Yuxin, the village president extorted another 2,000 Yuan from him. After that, he was finally sent home. On the sixth day of the first month of the lunar year 2001, the village president reported him for clarifying the truth and exposing the evil. Chaoyang Police Station illegally detained him in the Home of Respect for the Aged. Li Yueli and Wei Chong from the county government ordered Qu Deming and Liu Xichen to beat his head and body twice a day using a plastic tube, and to beat his buttocks after taking his cotton trousers off. He was released after being illegally detained for three days and was forced to pay a "transportation fee" of 50 Yuan. He was also extorted 50 Yuan "for food".

Wang Yanjie is a 46 year old female. She went to Beijing to appeal on April 26th 2000. She was arrested in Jinzhou. She was illegally detained in the Jinzhou custodial center for 7 days. Then she was detained in Shuangcheng custodial center for another 15 days. They extorted 500 Yuan from her. Wang was then sent to the Home of Respect for the Aged. There was a brainwashing class held there for 9 days that she was forced to attend. They extorted another 500 Yuan from her. Zhao Xiuxia, Fu Chunlou, Wei Chong and Liu Xichen from Chaoyang county government stole 1,625 jin (translator's note: a measurement unit, one jin equals to 500 gram) from her.

Sun Shibo is a 45 year old female. Since July 20th 1999, the local government and police department has harassed her family. The government sent Zhang Dongmei and Xu XX to her home every day and the village also sent someone to monitor her. One night during April 2000, a group of people from the county government burst into her house and took her to the police subdivision for illegal detention. They held her for one day and night without giving her a reason. Then they detained her for an additional three days. Gao Jinpeng and Wu Desheng from Zhoujia County extorted 500 Yuan from her. On the afternoon of January 19^th 2001, a group of people from the local government and the police subdivision deceived her and her husband. Her husband was sent to Shuangcheng prison and was unlawfully detained there for 63 days. She was sent to the Home of

Respect for the Aged, and was detained there for over a month.

Ma Xianyun is a 31 year old female. She went to Beijing to appeal on June 5^th 2000, and was sent to the 610 Office by plainclothes policemen. They arrested her at the appealing center. She was sent back to Shuangcheng custodial center and unlawfully detained for 15 days. She endured inhumane treatment during her detention. The president of the custodial center extorted a "meal" fee of 120 yuan from her. She was forced to pay a 100 Yuan "transportation fee" by Zhang Qing and Sun Zhijun, even though she could have walked home by herself. Her family refused to pay 1, 367-Yuan "traveling expenses" for the people who went to Beijing to pick her up. In the fall of that year, the village cadre deducted this amount of money from her brother-in-law's salary . This caused a strain within the family.

Liu Chunxiu, female, is 24 years old. Since July 1999, the local government has gone to her home to search for Dafa books and to disturb her family many times. On November 3^rd 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal with her parents, husband, and her less than 7 months old daughter. She was sent to Shuangcheng's local government's liaison office in Beijing. Jiang X stole the last 2-Yuan that she had. On January 3^rd 2000, Zhang Qing, from the village team sent her a notification that she must send 1,756 Yuan to the village before January 5^th. Their land would be sold if the money weren't sent that day. She did not have any land. Her husband had 2 mu (translator's note: mu is Chinese unit of area, one mu is about equal to 667 square meters) of land for growing rice. The village took away her father in law's land instead. On numerous occasions, the old man requested that the village president, Zhang Qing, return his land. His requests were ignored. They told him they had sold the land and he had to pay money in order to get the land back. Zhang Qing said, "We will break your leg if you come back again." He did eventually get the land back. This is an example of Jiang's persecution extending to family members.

Li Shuying, female, is 37 years old. On May 11^th 2000 (lunar calendar) she went to Beijing to appeal and was detained in Shuangcheng Custodial Center for over 20 days. Zhu Xikui from Shingshan County extorted 2,000 Yuan from her. During December 2000 (lunar calendar) the officials in Shingshan county said that according to their superiors' instructions, all Dafa practitioners should be seized and sent to a detention center and should not be allowed to spend the Spring Festival at home. So she was taken to Shuangcheng Custodial Center and illegally detained for a month and two days. They also extorted 600 Yuan from her to "pay for meals". Later, she was detained by Shingshang County government for over 20 days. Zhu Xikui from Shingshan County Government extorted an additional 500-Yuan from her.

Zhao Xifeng is a 32-year-old female. On February 9^th 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal. She was sent to Shuangcheng custodial center for over 20 days. This occurred after she was arrested in Jinzhou City. She was then unlawfully detained in Shuangchen Home of Respect for the Aged for about 10 days. She was released after Zhao Xiuxia extorted 1,000 yuan from her. The County government asked her if she would continue to practice during the first month of lunar 2000. She answered, "Yes"; therefore she was detained in Shaoyang home of Respect for the Aged for more than 2 months. She was beaten badly during the detention period. She went on a hunger strike with the other practitioners detained there and requested to be released unconditionally. The officials did not release them. They force-fed them using a tube inserted through their noses. Liu Chunchen beat Zhao Xifeng many times with a plastic tube. Chaoyang Political and Judiciary Committee president Li Yueli extorted 600 Yuan from Zhao Xifeng before releasing her. Village president Fu Chenlou and Wei Chong extorted another 1,920 yuan from her family.

Yin Yusan, is a 40 year old male. In June 2000 he went to Beijing to validate Dafa. The Beijing Railroad Zhanqian Police Station detained him for two days. He was sent back to Shuangchen by village president Yin Yuxin and village accountant Bai Yongfu and detained in Shuangchen Detention Center for 7 days. Zhang Guoxin from Shangcheng Police Department extorted 2,000 Yuan from Yin Yusan. He was released shortly thereafter. On January 6^th 2001 (lunar Calendar) Chaoyang Police Station illegally detained Yin in the home of Respect for the Aged. Li Yueli and Wei Chong in the County government ordered Shengchan village peasant Qu Deming and Shengchuan village cadre Liu Chunchen to beat Yin viciously with a plastic tube. His nose was bleeding and he was handcuffed to an iron bed for a night. He was released after being detained for 3 days. Before releasing him they extorted 50 Yuan from Yin for "transportation costs" and 50Yuan for "meal costs".

Ma Guoyong, female, is 47 years old. In June 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal. She was arrested outside of the appealing center. She was detained in Chuangcheng No 2 custodial center for 20 days after being detained in Shuangcheng's local government's liaison office in Beijing for 3 days. She was then detained in Chaoyang Home of Respect for the Aged for over 20 days. She was released after they extorted 500 Yuan from her. Jiang He extorted another 3,000 Yuan from Ma Guoyong and another practitioner. On the morning of January 18^th 2001, Chaoyang county political and judiciary committee president Li Yueli and Shengde village president Jiang He went to her home and asked her if she would continue practicing. She answered, "Yes" and they left after asking her something else and making some written notes. About 3 or 4 pm that day, they went to her house again and asked her to go to the County Government for an unknown reason. She told them that she would not go because nobody was available to care for her child. They told her that it wouldn't take long. She was deceived. She was detained at Home of Respect for the Aged for 2 days. She was then sent to Shuangcheng No 2 Custodial Center and was unlawfully detained for two and a half months. Next, she was sent back to Home of Respect for the Aged for 2 more days of detention. Li Yueli from Chaoyang county government extorted 3,000 Yuan from her. Then she was released.

Yan Hongjuan, female, is 34 years old. On July 22^nd 1999 she went to the provincial government in Haerbin City and requested that the governments stop persecuting Falun Dafa. The government harassed her after that. In April 2000, Ordinary Affairs President Zhang Dongchen, Town President Wang Xiangdong, Military Department President Wu Desheng, and Wang Yan from a Police Department subdivision arrested her. This occurred when she was at a group Fa study with other practitioners. She was released after being detained for 3 days in Zhoujia police subdivision. On July 5^th 2000, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa. She was held at the Beijing Tiananmen police station. She refused to tell her name. They sent her to Miyun police station. She was released after going on a hunger strike. On January 20^th 2001, Ma Shenglong, Gao Jinping, and Wu Desheng deceived her. They tricked her into going to the Police subdivision. She was then detained in Shuangcheng Detention Center for 68 days. Zhang Guofu extorted 500 Yuan from her. The Detention Center extorted an over 700 Yuan "meal fee" from her. Some Government Officials also extorted over 1,000 Yuan from her family members.

Li Guihua, female, is 45 years old. She was arrested around the time of the 2000 Spring Festival when she went to Beijing for Fa-Rectification. The 610 office extorted 1,000 Yuan from her. They continued to monitor her for over half a year. They often went to her house to harass her.

Zhang Huanyi, male, is 47 years old. On May 21 2000, he went to Beijing to validate Dafa. He was detained in Shuangcheng's Local Government Liaison office in Beijing by local policeman. He was sent back by somebody from his company on May 24, was detained in Shuangcheng No 2 custodial center for 17 days, and was extorted 1,500 Yuan by Shuangcheng 610 Office. During detention period, the practitioners kept up studying Fa and so were found by the guard. The practitioners went on a group hunger strike in order to resist the persecution. At about 3pm on the fifth day of hunger strike, the guard took Zhang Huanyi out, handcuffed his arms on the back, and fed him salt water by force in the torture room. He said, "I was right to go to Beijing to appeal. This is the right empowered by our national constitution." The evil president of the detention center, the prison doctor and 610 Office agent did not listen to his kindly persuasion and tortured him.

Zhang Shufen, female, is 50 years old. On July 30^th 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was arrested on August 8th. She was detained in Shuangcheng No 2 Custodial Center for 15 days. Zhao Yihe from Qinglin extorted 1,000 Yuan from her. On June 23rd 2000, she was detained for talking to another practitioner. They held her in Shuangcheng No 2 custodial center for 10 days. During this detention she was beaten once by an evil policeman from the 610 office. On August 23rd 2000, the Shuangcheng 610 Office seized her from her home when she was telling others the truth about Dafa. They illegally searched her home and took Dafa books, Dafa materials and Master's portrait. The evil policeman in Shuangcheng 610 Office beat her and made her kneel on the ground for over an hour. She was illegally detained for 16 days, and was released after Shuangcheng 610 office extorted 2,000 Yuan from her husband. On January 18^th 2001, her family was preparing for the Chinese Spring Festival. The village president Dong Fushan was afraid that she would go to Beijing to appeal. He ordered the local police station to send the four people in her family to the Shuangcheng Custodial Center and detained them for 115 days. The detention center President, Jin Chaolu, cursed and beat her, fully giving free reign to his scoundrel side.

Li Sheng, male, is 56 years old. On April 29^th 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal and then was sent to the Beijing police station. He was then sent to Shuangcheng's Local Government Liaison Office in Beijing and was left handcuffed for 8 days. On May 8th, he was sent to Shuangcheng Custodial Center and was detained for 19 days. On May 26th he was released after Zhao Shuxia extorted 1,000 Yuan from him. After the fall, the village government forced him to transfer 700 Yuan to them. In December 2000, Wei Chong, Liu Xichen, Fu Chunlou and Qi Guojun extorted money from his family again. If his family doesn't give them money, they will arrest him. His family now has to sell their corn for the benefit of the government hoodlums, instead of for their own benefit.

Yi Haifeng is a 28-year-old male. On November 5^th 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal with his wife and their 7- month -old daughter. They were all arrested. The local government and police station personnel sent them to Shuangcheng Local Government Liaison Office in Beijing. The policemen handcuffed them in the Shuangcheng Local Government Liaison Office in Beijing. Jiang X extorted 34 Yuan from him. On November 7th, they were sent to Shuangcheng Custodial Center and detained there for 15 days. They were forced to pay a 'meal fee' of 130 Yuan. On January 3rd 2001, the Village Committee notified his family that they must pay 1,756 Yuan before January 5^th 2001. If they did not send that amount of money before the deadline, they would lease the 9 Mu of fields contracted by his parents and continue to lease them for four years. This unreasonable request was not granted and his family continues to be harassed.
