Some Understandings of Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) Ever since practitioners worldwide began sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil, although I believed in the effects of righteous thoughts without a doubt, for a long period of time, I unconsciously used the Fa-rectification verse as a self-protection method. For example, I sent forth righteous thoughts on my way to meet fellow practitioners, and I sent forth righteous thoughts while distributing truth-clarifying materials. Of course, when doing Fa-rectification work, sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil is very necessary; however, understanding our reasons for doing so is crucial for practitioners.

Later, through Fa studying and reading experience sharing articles on the internet, I continuously measured myself by the standards of a Dafa particle, and finally realized that my sending out righteous thoughts in this way was a form of deeply hidden selfishness.

As Fa-rectification-period Dafa disciples, we must base all of our thoughts at all times on assisting Teacher to rectify the Fa. Eliminating the evil is our sacred mission. Our safety comes as the result of Teacher's protection, the power of our righteous thoughts, and the elimination of the evil. It is not the purpose for sending forth righteous thoughts. I think the difference between these two concepts reveals the distinct line that exists between practitioners doing Fa-rectification work and ordinary people doing their own thing.

After realizing this, I experienced the immensity and the unrestricted state at the realm of "altruism and selflessness," when doing Dafa work, and the peace and harmony that comes from truly melting into Fa-rectification. The fear that constantly emerged when doing Dafa work was also greatly reduced. I think that's because my state of mind when sending forth righteous thoughts was closer to that of "a great cultivator" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2001 Canada Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference").

One day, it suddenly dawned on me that "The Fa rectifies Heaven and Earth, immediate retribution in this lifetime" is a heavenly principle -- the gods are warning people: don't do any bad things to bring harm to yourself. However, this principle was twisted by the old forces and people can no longer understand its true meaning. When sending forth righteous thoughts, we should rectify the meaning of this principle from its origin, and make this principle of the cosmos once again reveal its actual reality to the human world. I experienced the wonder and greatness of eliminating degeneration in the cosmos and of assisting Teacher to rectify the Fa, and the previous human sentiments that were often included in my sending forth righteous thoughts disappeared completely.
