Japanese Dafa Practitioners

The exhibition of Zhang Cuiying's traditional Chinese paintings hosted by the Association Supporting Falun Gong Practitioners Applying for Refugee Protection received extensive attention from all circles in Japan. Since people were quite interested in learning about Falun Dafa further, the Japan Falun Dafa Association held a workshop called "Life Needs Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" on December 5, 2001, which reflected the richness and depth of Dafa and spread Dafa positively.

The workshop consisted of 4 parts, including a video, speeches, a musical performance, and an exercise demonstration. The prelude was a 3-minute long video demonstrating the exercises by Australian practitioners. After a brief opening address, the workshop entered into the speeches, which was the main topic. 7 specialists and scholars talked about their understandings of "Life Needs Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" in relation to their field of specialty and cultivation experience. Artist Zhang Cuiying's topic was "Aesthetics and Cultivation." A specialist on the book Red Mansion Dream gave a speech on "Reincarnation and Foreordination." A medical specialist talked about "Chinese and Western Medicines and Cultivation." A teacher's topic was "Education and Cultivation." A child education enthusiast's discussed "Children's Education." A specialist with a medical doctorate talked about "Science and Cultivation." A specialist with an engineering doctorate discussed the "Computer Age." All the speakers also talked about the various degeneration of modern society, stressing virtue in human society, the universe's characteristic of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, the true nature of life, and the fundamental Dafa (great law) of the universe.

After the speeches, a couple of Falun Dafa practitioners who play the piano and erhu (a kind of Chinese music instrument) played the Dafa music Pudu. Many in the audience were moved to tears. When the video describing Zhang Cuiying's 8-month experience of being persecuted in China for upholding Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance was played, all of the audience including non-practitioners was touched. At the end, 8 Dafa practitioners, accompanied by the Dafa exercise music, demonstrated the five-sets of Falun Dafa exercises on stage.
