Falun Gong Practitioners in Toronto Release First Comprehensive Report on China's Illegal State-Run Terrorist Organization: The "6.10" Office

TORONTO, December 10, 2001 -- On this International Day of Human Rights, the first comprehensive report documenting the state--run terrorist campaign of China's "6.10 Office" against Falun Gong practitioners both in China and abroad, including Canada, was released to the media today by Zenon Dolnyckyj of Toronto, who was one of the 36 Western Falun Gong practitioners beaten and illegally detained in China.

The report discloses the systematic operations of the "6.10 Office".

The "6.10 Office" was created by the President of China on June 10,1999 to specifically persecute Falun Gong. "6.10" is in reference to the date of its creation. This terrorist office, now said to have Bureau status in China, exists at all levels of government from federal to municipal and its mandate is to torture, brainwash, and spread defaming propaganda with the ultimate goal of eradicating Falun Gong, both inside China and abroad. It has been the key weapon of Chinese President Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan and their accomplices in their vicious efforts to exterminate Falun Gong.

The "6.10" acts above all legal, judicial and governmental bodies and utilizes every facet of the society, including schools, communities and workplaces. Family members of practitioners are also coerced through intimidation, threats and extortion to aid in the persecution of their loved ones. Students are forced to slander Falun Gong in university entrance exams or they are refused admittance.

In the evening, Falun Gong practitioners and supporters also held a candlelight vigil at the Chinese Consulate in Toronto to commemorate practitioners in China who have faced the torture and murder of the "6.10" offices and other means used in Jiang Zemin's evil campaign, with courage, compassion, and determination, upholding and protect the values of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," and even facing being tortured to death. This comprehensive 30-page report documenting China's state terrorism, was compiled by Mr. Dolnyckyj based on information gathered by various human rights organizations, the United Nations and reports coming directly out of China. In the report, a number of disturbing facts are highlighted:

According to recent UN reports, state terrorism in the form of "government terror" carried out by state regimes is the most damaging and destructive form of terrorism, both historically as well as today. The "6.10 Office", in order to force the persecution toward the ultimate goal of eradicating Falun Gong, persecutes state police officers if they fail to meet their quota of "reformed" Falun Gong practitioners. Persecution by the "6.10 Office" has extended overseas, utilizing Chinese consulates across Canada and many other nations to harass, intimidate and threaten practitioners outside of China, knowingly breaking the laws of those countries intended to protect the basic human rights of their citizens. The recent update on "6.10 Office" operations lists Violations of 10 separate "Crimes Against Humanity" as defined by the United Nations, including Psychiatric abuses, Beating, torture and coercion in the name of "Re--education"
