Melting Hard Ice -- Clarifying the Truth of Falun Dafa in the Chinatown of Vancouver, Canada

(Clearwisdom.net) Vancouver is a city that has a large Chinese population. Most of the Chinese from the Mainland that live here are in Chinatown, and so are the Chinese organizations. Many of these Chinese organizations have mutually supportive relationships with the Chinese Consulate. Therefore, in order to break through the influence of the deceitful propaganda of the Chinese Consulate on these Chinese people our practitioners must work very hard and in depth.

Our teacher said, "In the evil's damage, Chinese people have been the biggest victims" and "It's hard, so your mighty virtue is displayed; it's hard, and so it's a good opportunity to establish your mighty virtue." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2001 Canada Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference") In October of this year, we set up a practice site across from the main business district in Chinatown. No matter what the weather is, we keep doing what we need to do every day. We display our picture boards, play videos, and distribute flyers to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa. On December 9, we organized a big exercise activity. Many predestined people got a chance to learn about Falun Dafa.

Many Chinese people came to our practice site to express their support for Dafa and their concern about the persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners. Among them was a 76-year-old man who had fought in five battles and who had been a party member for 30 years. He spoke out loudly to the practitioners who were doing the exercises, "My heart goes out to you. I support you. Seeing you are sitting here in such cold weather [we were doing the fifth exercise], I cannot stop my tears. The Chinese government will take harsher measures toward you. Please be careful! Vancouver has many Chinese secret agents. Standing here and talking to you is very dangerous for me. But I'd rather speak out." When two young people showed their misunderstanding of Dafa, he interrupted them and told them lessons from history. Two other elderly people warmly expressed their support to us and actively helped us to distribute our newspapers to familiarize the Chinese people here with the current situation. They left their phone numbers with us saying they would help us to clarify the truth to the Chinese people.

Dozens of people came to our practice site to learn the exercises. Many inquired if there were any practice sites close to the area where they lived and where they could buy Falun Gong books. They expressed their willingness to learn the exercises. As expected, there are still some Chinese people who have been profoundly influenced by the Chinese government's fallacious propaganda toward us and they would not take our flyers. It is necessary for us to do our best to clarify the truth and take advantage of every possible chance to save people.
