"How Do You Have the Gall to Arrest Me?" - Righteous Belief and Thought Can Suffocate Evil

(Clearwisdom.net) During the 2001 National Day holiday (around October 1st), officials in many areas of China became more frantic in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. In a certain city, some village officers set up their own "court" to illegally arrest practitioners. A practitioner about 70 years old went out into the rain to distribute Dafa truth materials and returned home just after dark. At his front door he was met by a few officers trying to arrest him. Due to his righteous willpower, this senior practitioner faced the officers calmly. He simply said to them, "You see I am all wet from the rain. I need to shower and change." He then went to the well and pulled up a bucket of cool water to wash. It was a cold and rainy day. While bathing, he commented to the officers "Because of Falun Gong, I, a person over 70, can take a cold shower on a day that is freezing. Can you?" He also mentioned that he lived by himself, so he had to do all the household chores, such as washing the clothes. Then he said to the officers, "It is getting late. I am tired and hungry so I can't go with you now. I suppose you have not eaten either. If you don't mind, how about having a bowl of porridge with me?" As he was eating, he pointed at his shabby house and gave the waiting officers a lecture. "I joined the Party in the 50's and then worked as an official for decades. Take a look at my simple house and compare it with your fancy ones (Translator's note: the fancy houses were results of corruption). How do you have the gall to arrest me? If you don't feel like waiting then get out. I am a good citizen. I have been cultivating Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance). I do not commit crimes or violate any laws. I am not afraid of you. I will report to the village office myself tomorrow." The bunch of officers could not say anything in reply and left unwillingly.

The next morning, this Dafa practitioner went nobly and uprightly to the village government office. There he talked convincingly in detail about how he had behaved as a good person and how honest he had been as an official without taking any bribes as well as how he behaved even better after learning Dafa so as to assimilate to the cosmic characteristics Zhen-Shan-Ren. His talk made the authorities feel guilty and red-faced. They could not argue so they just said "It's OK now. There is no problem. You may go as you please." Pointing to the three other practitioners detained there, this senior practitioner told them, "They are good people cultivating Zhen-Shan-Ren like me. You should set them free too. Otherwise, I won't go alone." Because he insisted, the other three practitioners also were able to go home safe and sound. That was due to the power of Dafa, the power of righteous thoughts!

"Indestructible righteous thoughts toward the cosmos' Truth form benevolent Dafa disciples' rock-solid, Vajra Bodies, they frighten all evil, and the light of Truth they emanate makes the unrighteous elements in all beings' thoughts disintegrate.
