I am from Taiwan and went to study in Australia. Before I returned to Taiwan, I practiced Falun Dafa exercises and clarified the truth in Chinatown with practitioners in Sydney, Australia. I would like to share my Hongfa experience:

When I distributed truth-clarifying materials on the streets, two men from China, one tall and one short, walked by. I handed the truth clarifying materials to the tall man, but he shook his head so I handed the materials to the short man. The short man accepted the materials without paying attention to what they were. The two men spoke to each other for a while and then the tall man left. Then the short man began to read the materials I gave him. Suddenly he gasped out loud, "Oh my, Falun Gong!" Then he looked around, glanced at the truth-clarifying posters, and quickly walked to the TV that was surrounded by people. At that time, the self-immolation true story was being broadcast. He watched the videotape soberly. I felt very happy because his life may be saved because of this.

A woman and her son walked towards me. So I walked towards them and gave them the truth-clarifying materials. The woman became angry and she refused to accept them. However, her child pulled her hand and walked to the self-immolation facts posters and pointed to something. They spoke in Cantonese. It seemed as if the child was talking about the self-immolation incident. When they were about to leave, I again handed the material to the woman and she said, "Self-immolation facts!" This time, her face looked more relaxed and she accepted the material. Sometimes, I think that children can be more clear-minded than adults.

Two women from China signed the petition to support Falun Gong after they watched the truth-clarifying videotape. At first, they were reluctant to sign the petition because they feared the risk of being persecuted. I reassured them that if they wrote their names in English rather than in Chinese, nobody would be able to identify them. This made them more relaxed. Despite the massive propaganda and fabricated lies, most people can still make correct decisions, and it is difficult to discern. The fear of those women portrays the terror of the people of China and the vicious methods employed by Jiang Zemin in the persecution against Falun Gong.

Most of the Western tourists that I met are very compassionate and willing to sign the petition to support Falun Gong. On one occasion, I came across an old gentleman and I offered him a flyer, but he refused to accept it. Then he glanced at the poster and saw a picture of a practitioner being beaten and persecuted. In less than a second, he turned back and asked me for the flyer. Another man sincerely told me that he completely understood the truth and encouraged me. A righteous man pointed to the picture of the persecuted practitioners and said loudly, "This is terrible (indicating the persecution employed by Jiang Zemin)." And there were also two men who looked and dressed in a tough and intimidating manner. One had long hair and his whole body was tattooed, and the other had a pierced nose. Upon hearing that Falun Gong is persecuted in China, they signed the petition immediately without saying a word. I think that everybody has Buddha nature and demon nature. Within the pure compassionate field of a practitioner, an everyday person's demon nature can be restrained while their original Buddha nature comes forth. Master said, "The Buddha light illuminates everywhere, propriety and justice rectify and harmonize everything." (Zhuan Falun, Lecture 6).

Whenever I distribute truth-clarifying materials, I usually smile to the people and say, "Hello", "Good afternoon", "How are you", and ask them, "Would you like a Falun Gong flyer?" Everyday people are usually polite and react positively. Some people will smile, and some will say "thank you." Even if they do not want the flyer, they do not become angry. I think that it is good to give people the choice to accept or reject the truth-clarifying materials rather than force people to accept them. After all, every action of Falun Gong practitioners will influence people's perception and image of Falun Dafa.
