A Few Examples of the Persecution of Dafa Practitioners in Chengdu City, Longquanyi District

1. Ding Shuqing is 46 years old. She was arrested and detained at the Sichuan Office in Beijing on July 3 after going to Beijing to appeal on July 1, 2000. On July 7, she was taken back to Luodai. The police in the Luodai Security Office took more than 300 Yuan from her and never returned it. On July 8, she was sent to the Longquan Detention Center and detained there for 40 days. Her 1.26 mu (a Chinese unit of land measurement. 1 Mu = 0.165 Acre) vineyard was confiscated, resulting in a loss of 4,000 Yuan.
2. Yuan Bin is 36 years old and obtained the Fa in 1998. He teaches at the Luodai Middle School. He went to Beijing to appeal on July 1, 2000 and was arrested on July 3. He was detained in the Chaoyang District in Beijing and taken back to the Luodai Security Office on July 9. He was later held in the Longquan Detention Center. He was released after being detained for 40 days and paying a fine of 5,000 Yuan. On January 5, 2001, he was again arrested and sent to a labor camp for one year. He is still in the Mianyang Xinhua Detention Center.
3. Yuan Xuefen is 38 years old and obtained the Fa in 1998. She went to Beijing to appeal in July 2000 and was arrested on July 3. She was then sent to the Huairou County Detention Center. On July 11, she was taken back to the Luodai Security Office and detained there for two days. During her detention, her two shops were shut down and emptied of merchandise by the police. On October 5, 2001, she was arrested while visiting a fellow practitioner who had just returned home after serving a sentence in labor camp. She was detained at the Xihe Security Office for half a day and then released. During her detention, her home was ransacked.
4. Shi Lanfang is 66 years old and started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. She works in the Aerospace Technology School. She was arrested and detained at the Longquan Detention Center from July 5 to July 23, 2001. Her sister was also arrested. The police ransacked her home and removed many Dafa books and tapes. The school reduced her monthly salary from 620 Yuan to 250 Yuan in early September. Moreover, she is often harassed and threatened by personnel from the Security Office, including Ma Chun and Zhang Chengyan.
