Some Police Officers Still Have Consciences

(Clearwisdom.net) I am an eighteen-year-old practitioner in Mainland China. I would like to talk about events that we encountered during this year's (2001) New Year celebration when my mother and I went to Tiananmen Square to validate the Fa. Even though, overall, we were surrounded by violence and viciousness, we saw that some of the police officers still exhibited kind hearts.

After we unfurled a Falun Dafa truth clarifying banner that evening, we were arrested and then detained in the courtyard of the Tiananmen police station. Three police officers were in charge of us. They had been temporarily transferred from the army and did not know much about Falun Dafa. We started to tell them about Falun Dafa. At first they were a little defensive, but then, slowly, they began to listen quietly and their expressions softened. In the end, we all wished each other a happy New Year at the sound of the midnight clock chimes.

Later that night, some fierce looking officers oversaw our transport to a detention center. As soon as our journey began, however, they stood up and gave their seats to a few elderly practitioners. One of the higher-ranking officers said with emotion, "Really, who would want to move you in the middle of the night? There's nothing we can do."

As we went through a week of being transferred between police stations and administration centers, we met quite a few police with righteous thoughts. At one police station, after the customary body search and interrogation, the officers sat down next to us in a friendly way and listened to the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution. They also asked us many questions and after a few hours of our talking about Falun Dafa, one policeman actually learned how to do the meditation right then and there!

At another police station, the three police officers who had been called in at midnight to watch us also discussed Falun Dafa with us in detail. They said that during the last two months, they have met hundreds of Falun Dafa practitioners and believe from their hearts that we are all good people! They said that they supported us and believe that one day the Fa will be rectified! Justice will prevail! They also told us not to give up. They stated many righteous views from an everyday person's perspective. They also explained that they do not like doing this kind of work and are only doing it for their livelihood and for food for their families. They said that if there was anything they could do within their duties they would try their best to help us.
