Shang Kungeng, Former Deputy Head of Zhending County of Hebei Province, is Persecuted for Protesting Treatment of Falun Gong Practitioners
(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Shang Kunfeng is from Zhending County of Shijiazhuang City,
Hebei Province. This year in July, he left his home and currently his
whereabouts are unknown. Mr. Shang was a university graduate who had a leadership role in the Party
and the government for quite some time. After July 20, 1999, he was dismissed as
the Deputy Head of County because he objected to his county's illegal
persecution and trial of practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal. In July
2001, the county arrested over 20 practitioners who were beaten and questioned
day and night. The county even wanted to persecute practitioners from
Shijiazhuang City and nearby counties. Mr. Shang gave a statement that he
protested doing such things. He later left home, causing a great shock in the
county. Upon being instructed by the "610 Office" (a bureau
specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has
absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over
the political and judiciary branches), some people performed a continuous
investigation of Mr. Shang for more than month. The result of the investigation
revealed that Mr. Shang was an officer with an impeccable record. Although he
was in charge of human resources in the county for a long time, he didn't have a
record of doing any bad deeds. In addition to being in good standing, he was
found to be an unselfish person. During the investigation, people were lured to give false statements about
Mr. Shang in exchange for receiving benefits. Others were threatened with being
laid off if they didn't do so. It is my hope that kind people would provide more
detailed information about this case in order to promote justice.
