The Central News Agency reported on December 21: one hundred and fifty-six (156) Canadian and Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners filed a law suit in Ontario Superior Court of Justice. The suit accuses Canada's largest Chinese language newspaper, the Sing Tao Daily, of "libel, slander, negligence and incitement of hatred." They asked $900 million for compensation.

The Central News Agency reported on December 20: more than one hundred and fifty Falun Gong practitioners launched a law suit on December 19 against the Sing Dao Daily for "libel, slander, negligence and incitement of hatred." On September 20, 2001, a full-page spread, entitled "Radical religions advocate destroying the world," was published in the Sing Tao Daily. The article carried photographs and commentary placing Falun Gong with many reportedly violent and doomsday religious cults.

Summary of News in Mainland China

Today, one hundred and fifty eight people solemnly declared that everything they said, did and wrote inconsistent with Dafa under the mental and physical persecution by Jiang's regime are invalid. They will steadfastly cultivate and redouble their efforts to clarify the truth and make up for the damage they have caused to Dafa. They will keep up with Master's Fa-rectification process and strive hard in their cultivation.

An elderly practitioner was tortured when he went to Beijing to appeal. He was kicked on the side of his waist, at the level of the kidney, by a vicious policeman until he couldn't stand up. He was also tricked into being put into a mental institution and extorted out of 10,000 Yuan (Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan).

Wu Xiaohua, female, an associate professor at Anhui Architecture and Industry Institution, was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor. The sentence was later prolonged by three months. She was again illegally sentenced, this time to two years of forced labor because of her determined belief. She went on a hunger strike and was on parole for medical treatment; however, she is still being illegally detained.

For the past two years, a 49-year-old female practitioner in Linyuan City was brutally tortured by the police from Wanyuandian Police Station and Linyuan Detention Center on several occasions. This was for practicing Falun Gong. They were also angry that she validated Dafa, and clarified the truth to people. She went on a hunger strike and was forcibly injected with medicines. A vicious policeman even tried to inject wine into her veins.

A female practitioner in Linyuan City suffered two years of torture and tribulation at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She was eventually released and declared innocent. However, something unbelievable happened. Before she arrived home, after being released from Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, she was illegally arrested again by a vicious police chief named Tao Guoyi and others. They were from the local Fuoyedong Township police station. She was thrown back into prison.

Falun Dafa Overseas

Upon hearing the shocking news that 6 excellent students in Qinghua University were illegally sentenced to heavy jail terms for practicing Falun Gong, many alumni of the university were indignant at the brutal persecution. They have provided signatures in support of the persecuted practitioners in Qinghua University.

Practitioners in Canada held a news conference on December 21, to give details of a lawsuit that was filed against the Sing Tao Daily. The lawsuit that has been filed in the Superior Court of the Province of Ontario charges libel, slander, negligence and incitement of hatred. Plaintiffs include Falun Gong practitioners from different provinces in Canada as well as those from Hong Kong who were shown in the article's photograph.

Ming Pao Daily News: 156 Falun Gong practitioners from Canada and Hong Kong filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of the Province of Ontario against Sing Tao Daily in Toronto, the Province of Ontario, and Canada. The lawsuit charges libel, slander, negligence and incitement of hatred and asks a total compensation of 13,260,000 Canadian dollars. The lawsuit also requires Sing Tao Daily to apologize in public and not publish any reports about Falun Gong in the future.

In a city of Russia, a weekly journal, Truth, published an article entitled "The Truth is Not at the Final Judgment Court," introducing the truth of Falun Gong and how it has spread around the world.

In November, every university in Japan holds a special event activity. Falun Gong practitioners took this opportunity and for three consecutive days promoted Dafa, clarified the truth, and showed the exercise movements at the gate of Kyoto University.

Cultivation Stories

The Stories of Washington D.C. Dafa practitioners: Some elderly ladies go to the Chinese Embassy everyday to validate Dafa. Their righteous thoughts and firm belief in Dafa moved the police and they came over to salute them. A Western elderly lady bought a cup of hot tea for a practitioner who was practicing in the chilly wind. Upon accepting the truth-clarifying material, a truck driver said with emotion, "Long live Falun Gong. I support Falun Gong."

Several dozens of Dafa practitioners in a certain city were kidnapped, deceived, and illegally detained in a brainwashing class. They firmly resisted the evil's requests and did not recognize any form of persecution of Dafa practitioners. With strengthened righteous thoughts, they walked out of the brainwashing class easily.

On December 18, several Dafa practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and went to Tiananmen Square to unfurl a banner reading "Falun Dafa is good," and shouted from the bottom of their hearts that "Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa. Return the reputation of my Teacher and Dafa!" The tourists around kept saying, "Good, good, good!" With righteous thoughts, they left Tiananmen without any trouble.
