On November 28, 2001, mayor of Perth Amboy City, New Jersey and the city legislature passed the resolution R-533-11/01 firmly supporting Falun Gong and strongly condemning Jiang Zemin Regime's Persecution of Falun Gong. The local Falun Gong practitioners expressed their appreciation to the mayor and city legislature for their support of Falun Gong. The practitioners said, "The resolution is safeguarding not only basic human rights and freedom, but also justice and fairness, more importantly mankind's noble virtues - Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

Before the conference, the practitioners distributed materials introducing Falun Gong to the residents attending the meeting and literature on 35 western practitioners' appeal in Tiananmen Square to the mayor and each member of the city legislature. After the meeting, the mayor and the speaker stepped forward to shake hands with each of the practitioners and asked if we had pursued the same procedure in each state. The residents attending the meeting also shook hands with the practitioners and expressed their appreciation that we had come to explain the truth to them.
