The Buddha's Light Shining Everywhere: A Great Harvest in an Extremely Difficult Year

This year, 2001, was an extremely difficult year for Yitong Autonomous County of Jilin Province. Not only was there a drought during the spring and summer, but also, the first autumn frost came unusually early. In general, the area's farmland produced 60-70% fewer crops than usual, and in some places there was no harvest at all.

But the Xingli farming team (in China, under the current political system, farmers are put into teams), in Xiwei Village of Xiwei Township, is an exception. Rain fell twice at critical times, and they had a bountiful harvest. The corn they grew was the best in the whole province, both in terms of quantity and quality. That had never happened before in Xingli Village. All nearby villages either had a reduction in production or output (a 50% reduction in harvest or worse).

Many farmers said: "Why did our village have a bountiful harvest in a year of calamity? Maybe it's because there are a lot of people in our village who believe in Falun Gong." Some people said, "We are benefiting from Falun Gong."

Originally there were dozens of Falun Gong practitioners in Xingli Village, so the people had witnessed Falun Dafa's greatness. They all say that Falun Dafa is good.

Practitioner A's whole family practices Falun Gong. After July of 1999, the family went to Beijing to validate Dafa. In June of 2000, A's spouse was illegally sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. For three years in a row, A's family has had the best harvest among all the neighbors.
