Swiss Falun Dafa Day Held in City of Fribourg

With compassionate hearts, Swiss practitioners have been using different occasions and means to Hongfa and clarify the truth to governments, media and people of Switzerland. They tell people that Falun Dafa is good with their personal experiences and the effects have been very good.

1. Seize the Opportunity to Propose Falun Dafa Day

After the "September 11" terrorist attacks on America, a tragedy also happened in Zoug where criminals broke into the city government building and gunned down over 10 city council members. Switzerland is renowned for peace and serenity. This tragedy had not only shocked Switzerland but also made people think about what caused the tragedy and seek solutions. The tragedy also tells people that now the world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance more than ever. In October, Swiss Falun Dafa Association took the opportunity to propose Falun Dafa: Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Day to government officials in 27 states of Switzerland. Amid many positive responses, mayor and secretary of the City of Fribourg of Fribourg State first responded to the initiative and clearly expressed their support of such activity. Under the active support of Fribourg State and city police department, Falun Dafa: Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Day was held successfully in central square of City of Fribourg.

2. Falun Dafa: Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Day Unveiled with Grand Parade


The activities of Falun Dafa: Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Day started with grand parade. The city police department planed the best parade route. The long parade procession was guided by police cruisers and passed through main streets of the city. Practitioners held banners in Chinese, French and Germany: Falun Dafa: Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Day and The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. Practitioners distributed Dafa flyers to people and many people expressed their support.

3. Press Conference Discloses Brutal Persecution and Calls for and End to the Killing


Upon returning to the central square, Swiss Falun Dafa Association held a press conference for Falun Dafa: Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance Day. A practitioner first announced the purpose of Falun Dafa Day. Congratulatory letters from city governments, state governments, MPs and NGOs were read. Four Swiss practitioners told of their experiences of their peaceful appeal in Tiananmen Square. They called upon people of the world to urgently rescue practitioners persecuted in China and stop killing. Many people at the conference were deeply moved by their speeches.

4. Falun Gong Demonstration and Photo Exhibition Attract Big Crowd

After the press conference, practitioners demonstrated five sets of exercises. The peaceful and elegant movements attracted a big crowd. Three young practitioners were sitting in lotus position and meditating. Many people took photos of the peaceful and beautiful scene.

One reporter from local newspaper previously interviewed practitioners in the SOS! Global RescueWalk. The reporter came to the event early in the morning. He watched practitioners doing exercises and started to learn. When practitioners thanked him for his efforts, he replied, "Do not thank me, I came here today also for myself."

Many people visited the photo exhibition around the square. One man stayed with us for an entire day. He said if everyone knew Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, the world would have hope.
