1. [Mainland China] 6.10 Office is Promoted to Become the 6.10 Bureau

According to confirmed reports from inside the Chinese government, in order to escalate the suppression of Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan's group have promoted the "6.10 Office" to become the "6.10 Bureau" giving it a bureau level position of power in in the government.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] The 50 Practitioners Detained in Dabei Prison Are Steadfast in Practicing Falun Gong

The 50 illegally detained practitioners in Dabei Prison include former directors of Falun Gong assistant centers in Liaoning Province, among them Gao Qiuju (female) director of the assistant center in Dalian City. Jiang Zemin's associates have sent many brainwashed and "converted" practitioners, those who gave up practicing, to try and persuade them to give up their practice. But the brainwashed practitioners have all left in humiliating defeat. Among the 50 practitioners, those who had been coerced have declared void their "repentance statements" giving up the practice and taken back the paper they wrote when they were not in a clear state of mind. They have come back to practicing Falun Dafa.

3. [Northeastern China] "A Memory to be Treasured: Celebrating My 23^rd Birthday by Going to Tiananmen Square."

One afternoon in November of 2001, a male practitioner from northeastern China went to Tiananmen Square, wearing a suit, tie, and his best coat. He unfurled a 1.5-meter- long yellow banner with red characters on it and called out, "Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is the righteous way! Restore the reputation of my Teacher!" He returned home safely. On the train going home, there were even some kind-hearted people helping him to get a seat. All this reflects the mighty power of Fa and that Teacher is always looking after the students.

That day was his birthday. He said, "To validate Falun Dafa in Tiananmen Square is serious. That's why I was formally attired. I also intended to tell people that practitioners are from different age groups and different walks of life. I have always cherished this idea of validating Dafa in Tiananmen as a celebration of my birthday. It will leave a good memory forever. I was born to this world for Falun Dafa. Therefore I should do what a Dafa disciple ought to do on my birthday. Validating Dafa in Tiananmen Square is the best I can do for the teacher of Falun Dafa who gives me my true life."

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners are fired for their belief

Practitioners, Yang Xuemei (female) and Shao Weixin were fired for their firm belief in Falun Dafa. Their future remains in limbo as the verdict of the case of the Changchun Bus Co. has been delayed for one week.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Recent Crimes of the Police

A colleague of my sister's disclosed in a conversation that one of her relatives is a police officer in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, who handles the issue of Falun Gong. She said that the authorities have given quotas for each police officer to arrest 9 practitioners. Otherwise, they won't get their bonuses. The police officers privately discussed distributing equally the practitioners they arrested so that every one can get their bonus.

Last night, a relative of mine called me to warn me that the police in Dalian City are very actively trying to arrest practitioners. Practitioners in Dalian City, please stay alert.

A practitioner who was just released from a labor camp was called to the police station. The police asked him whether he would continue practicing Falun Gong. If the answer were "Yes", he would be sentenced to prison. Now the practitioner has to leave home to avoid the persecution.

6. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Suffocating the Evil in the Brainwashing Class.

Recently, a lot of practitioners in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province have been taken to brainwashing classes, where the perpetrators use various ruthless methods to torture them. Those who do not give in are subjected to imprisonment. In order to persecute each and every practitioner in the city, they are going to hold several brainwashing classes like that.

7. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] A Place for Making Truth-Clarifying Literature is Destroyed

On November 28, the police followed two practitioners who were involved in printing Falun Dafa literature. They managed to leave the police behind. On November 30, plain-clothed policemen tried to pry open the door of a 4^th floor apartment where two female practitioners had a laptop and a desktop computer and printing facilities. Unable to pry open the door, policemen and fire fighters smashed the outer wall to get into the room, completely destroying the place. Two other practitioners at the location managed to escape before more policemen swarmed in. A printer, a copier, and some paper were confiscated.

One male and one female practitioner were arrested, while another male practitioner is missing. The details have not been disclosed.

8. [Fuyu County, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners in the Town of Sanchahe Are Kidnapped

A practitioner in the town of Sanchahe in Fuyu County, Jilin Province was arrested for setting up loud speakers to broadcast information about Falun Dafa. Afterwards, the police kidnapped nine practitioners in this town.

9. [Sichun Province] The Persecution of Dafa Practitioners in Sichuan Province

Cao Xigen, female, 46, lives in the town of Yong'an in Shuangliu County in Sichuan Province. She has been detained many times in the town. In August of 2000, she jumped from the building, a senior citizens home, where she was being held and escaped. She had to move from place to place in Chengdu City. Near the end of April 2001, the police station in Yong'an Town found her and took her back to Shuangliu County for several months of detention. She was later sentenced to labor camp. She is being held in the Nanmusi Female Forced Labor Camp and forced to attend brainwashing classes.

Practitioner Xie Guangrong, male, 31, lives in No.57 Xinglong Lane, North Street, Qu County. He went on September 17, 2001 to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and expose the persecution. It's been over two months now and there is little information about him.

Zhu Ling, female, about 42, is an employee in the Chengdu Power Transmission Station. The police sent her to the Longquan Custodial Center in Chengdu on October 20, 2001 because she clarified the truth of Falun Dafa to people. She is still detained there today.

10. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] The Persecution of Practitioners in the Locomotive Company

Du Jie, female, 39, used to be an employee in the Chengdu Locomotive Company. The E'xianqiao Police Station asked her to come in and talk to them in April 2000 and sent her to Jiuru Village for 45 days of detention. After she was released, the company fired her. On January 1, 2001, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was held by E'xianqiao Police Station in Lianhua Village Detention Center. She was released a month later. Instead of letting her go home, the police directly sent her to Jiuru Village and held her there for 8 days, for no apparent reason. On February 23, 2001, she was sentenced to the Nanmusi Female Forced Labor Camp for one and half years.

Xu Yong, female, in her 30's, used to be an employee of the Chengdu Locomotive Company. The E'xianqiao Police Station asked her to have a conversation at the beginning of April 2000 and then held her in Jiuru Village for 30 days. The company fired her after she was released. On the afternoon of February 16, 2001, when Xu Yong was on her way home, a group of people from the security department of the Locomotive Company came up to beat and kick her. Then they took her to the E'xianqiao Police Station. She was later detained at Lianhua Village detention center. A month later, she was transferred to the Luzhou Police Department Jiangyang Branch for a couple of days. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

Li Tianying, female, 51, is a retired employee in the Chengdu Locomotive Company. She went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa on December 31, 2000. The E'xianqiao Police Station detained her at the detention center in Lianhua Village for over a month. She was sent in mid February 2001 to the Nanmusi Female Forced Labor Camp for one and half years.

Yi Wenhai, male, in his 30's, used to be an employee in the Chengdu Locomotive Company. Now he has lost his job. On January 1, 2001, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was detained by E'xianqiao Police Station in Lianhua Village Detention Center. He was released a month later. Instead of letting him go home, the police directly sent him to Jiuru Village and held him there for 8 days. He was sent at the end of February 2001 to the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang.

11. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia] A Practitioner Becomes Homeless

Chen Jianguo, male, 28, lives in Tuyouqi County of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. He was put into labor camp for his firm belief in Falun Dafa. He was released on June 30, 2001 after serving his term in Wuyuan Forced Labor Camp, but remained under surveillance at his work place. People from the local police department and police stations often harassed him at the construction site where he worked, denying him his personal freedom. On August 19, he heard that they were planning to send him to a brainwashing class in Baotou City. If he didn't follow the directions there, he would be sent to labor camps again. To avoid the persecution, he left home and is now forced to move from place to place.

12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Being Persecuted

On November 15, 2001, the Shiren District Office in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province deceived practitioners into visiting the office and detained them without reason. They forced practitioners to write a promise to give up practicing. Otherwise, they would be fined 2000 Yuan each. (Note: Yuan is the Chinese dollar. The average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 Yuan.)

Wang Li, female, 46, is an employee of Chengdu Construction Machinery Company. On September 25, 2001, she and 8 other practitioners went to Huanglongxi to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to people. On September 28, she was arrested by the Huayang Police Station and detained at the Longquan No.2 Custodial Center. On October 6, she was sent to the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong, but authorities there refused to take her in. She was sent back on the same day to Chengdu and held in the No. 4 prison.

13. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Jiao Jian is Kidnapped

Practitioner Jiao Jian (female) who works in Sohu Company in Guangdong Province went missing right before she was to leave to visit the Hong Kong branch. No one, including her parents, friends, and people in her company, could find her. Ten days later, the police in Guangzhou City notified her parents in Beijing that she had been arrested, but they didn't say why. All her relatives, friends, and colleagues believe that Jiao Jian is a very good person. She is kind and hard working, never pursuing fame and profit. They do not think she would ever participate in anything harmful to people, nor could they understand why the police in Guangzhou would use such a method of terror against a good person. They call upon the world to help Jiao Jian.

14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] "New Culture Journal" Slanders Falun Dafa

The New Culture Journal in Changchun City, Jilin Province has helped the authorities persecute Falun Dafa in the past two years by carrying slanderous articles. On November 27, 2001, they carried a piece of slanderous news against Falun Dafa to deceive the readers and aid in the persecution

Practitioners in Changchun City have been clarifying the truth to them in various ways.

15. A Peddler Comes to Know the Truth

One day, when I gave a truth-clarifying flyer to a peddler, I was surprised to hear him say, "Our family has got it already. After reading it we came to realize that what was said on TV were all lies. Reports of besieging the Zhongnanhai Government Compound and the Tiananmen Self-immolations are all false stories. How can anybody so easily besiege a place like Zhongnanhai? And how can any people attack the place with their bare hands? As to the girl in the hospital after the self-immolation incident, how could any one sing and be interviewed by the reporter after her throat was damaged from the burning? Everyone knows how corrupt Jiang Zemin is. Those who praise him must have received personal benefit, or they have to say things against their conscience. Every person knows it clearly at heart." I told him that my teacher is here to offer people salvation, not for any political power or get involved in politics. Not everyone is attached to political power. He was happy to hear it, and I was overjoyed to see a sentient being gain salvation. It also gave me confidence in future work of spreading Falun Dafa and clarifying the truth.

16. [Qinghuangdao City, Hebei Province] Police Department Tortures Practitioners

Recently, under the direction of the 6.10 Office, the police department in Qinghuangdao City, Hebei Province has secretly arrested many practitioners within the city area and tortured them severely. They use violent measures, such as hanging people up, shocking them with electric batons, locking people in narrow, iron cages lined with nails, whipping and beating them with clubs, and letting the mosquitoes feed on people. All the methods are ruthless and inhuman. Some practitioners lost consciousness repeatedly from the beatings. They were also not fed. Some practitioners were beaten for several days and nights consecutively. What's more striking is that the police treated the elderly, women, and toddlers all the same. A woman and her baby were locked in the iron cage with handcuffs without food for several days. The baby cried out of hunger.

The perpetrators are: Xa Qian, Li Fengyi, Wu Jinhua, Tian Peichun, Xu Yingwu, Lv Shuyi, and Wang Xianzeng.

17. [Changchun, Jilin Province] The Conduct of Authorities in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp

While authorities are persecuting Falun Dafa and its practitioners, the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province is one of its instruments. Ever since July 20, 1999 when the persecution began, they have detained many practitioners, from teenagers to the elderly.

1. Strict Supervision: There are monitors in the corridors as well as bathrooms. The practitioners work, eat, and sleep in the same room. They can only go to the bathroom together. Under the watch of two or three inmates, they have no personal freedom. They are not allowed to leave the room, nor are they allowed to speak to others. Their families cannot visit them, and they cannot write or call them, they are practically cut off from the world and left in the hands of the perpetrators.
2. Time Limit: The practitioners are given 5 minutes for eating and 10 minutes for washing clothes every ten or 15 days. They cannot take a shower for several months. Then when actually taking a shower, they only have 15 minutes. Every one has 5 minutes to use the bathroom. One has to get out even if he hasn't finished.
3. Heavy Labor: Every one has to work 17-18 hours a day and finish a certain workload. Practitioner Wang Yan is 17 years old, yet she has double the workload compared to other people. Her hands are deformed from the heavy work.
4. Mental Torture: The newcomers (practitioners) are not allowed to sleep at night. There are some people taking turns brainwashing them. The perpetrators punch and kick practitioners late at night, forcing them to stand for long hours. It goes on like that for ten days to a month. Some practitioners developed high blood pressure during the torture; some even had heart attacks and lost consciousness. In cases like that, the guards would say, "He is pretending to die."
5. Forced brainwashing: Practitioners are forced to watch videos and displays slandering Falun Dafa and its teacher. Those who refuse to watch are beaten, cursed, and shocked by electric batons.
6. Overdue Detention: There are numerous practitioners still under detention after they have served their terms because they refuse to give up practicing. They go on a hunger strike, demanding release, but are force-fed, shocked by electric batons, or locked in solitary confinement. The police also play music at mind numbing levels to unnerve them. Some practitioners are sent to the hospital due to the torture, but the torture continues even in the hospital.
