Corrupt Officials Incite Thugs to Beat Dafa Practitioners in Wenjiang County, Sichuan Province

I live in Wenjiang County, Sichuan Province. My wife, daughter, and I have been practicing Falun Dafa since 1995. Due to the evil's persecution, all three of us have been forced to leave home and wander around. My daughter was also forced to drop out of school. We have been living this way since June of 2000, over one year ago.

After practicing Falun Dafa, my entire family's health improved tremendously. I had been living near the edge of death before discovering this path of cultivation. Falun Dafa has always kept me healthy. My wife and daughter have also had many diseases cured.

We worked hard to uphold our duties to society. I worked at two factories, and our average monthly income was more than 900 Yuan. Being responsible for three acres of crop fields, my family has always paid our duties on time. My daughter has always been a good student. She has been awarded the title of "excellent student" every year, and praised by her teachers and classmates.

Once, our family lived peacefully and with much happiness. This was true until Jiang Zemin's order to persecute Falun Gong practitioners came about. Under the persecution, they searched our home, they stole our farm tools, electronic devices, and transportation. Our land was confiscated, and our house was ransacked and occupied by police officers.

Starting in January of 2000, police from the town government came to my workplaces many times to threaten the heads of the factories to expel me from work. They also illegally detained me for 80 days. After I got out of the detention center, Zhou Hongwei, the deputy mayor of the town, and Yang Zicheng, head of the Armed Forces Department of Liulin Village, hired thugs to harm me.

At around 8:00 PM on July 29th, 2000, those ruffians came to the conference room of the town government building with a bunch of poisonous hemp ["Huoma" a poisonous perennial plant with downy branches and piercing thorns. When it comes in contact with the skin it causes an immediate reaction in which the skin becomes red, swollen, extremely itchy and painful]. One man asked me whether I knew him. I replied that I did not. He then started wrapping me up with the poisonous hemp. The hemp was used acrossed my face, chest, and back. After that, he ruthlessly beat my whole body with a thick bamboo stick. When he got tired of beating me, he smoked a cigarette. Then, he continued to beat me. He even brought his family along to watch this brutal act. During this time, he also poured cold water over my head. The torture lasted for 2 hours.

After I left home, those corrupt officials, Zhou Hongwei and Yang Zicheng claimed: "We never beat him. We even felt sorry for him. It was the thug who beat him up."

By this we can see how Jiang Zemin's corrupt officials hire thugs in an attempt to hide their own responsibilities. They are still deceiving and harming the kind people of society.
