A few days ago, Xu Youfang, the head of Heilongjiang Province's Committee, gave a speech on television. He threatened to intensify the crackdown on Falun Gong practitioners.
Recently, a great amount of "truth flyers" appeared in Harbin City to disclose the frightful crimes perpetrated by Jiang Zemin. Based on Xu Youfang's plan, the Public Security Department deployed students of Harbin City Police School (including students of Heilongjiang Provincial Police Officer Institute), to patrol and watch and keep under surveillance each district after 12 midnight. Their duty was to arrest those Dafa practitioners who posted Dafa truth flyers in the night hours. Unfortunately, several practitioners had been detained.
Nowadays, the evil police installed video-camera monitors on every major street intersection of Harbing City. Police monitored the city with this equipment day and night.

A senior man, who has been paralyzed for over ten years, always carried a tape-player with him. During the already 18 months of suppression of Falun Gong carried out by Jiang Zemin, this senior man was suspicious about the news reported from the government. Why has the government put in so much effort to crack down on Falun Gong while ignoring the corruption in the party? He felt it was necessary for him to learn more about Falun Gong. On January 26th, 2001, Zhang Tao, female, an employee of the Inner Mongolia Safety Insurance Company was detained for 24 hours in Dongfeng Road Police Station in Hohhot City. Her home was unlawfully searched. Now she is under illegal surveillance after she was called back from her hometown at Yikezhaomeng District.
[Harbin City, Helongjiang Province] Practitioner in Arrested and Disappears
Wu Xinghua, a male practitioner from Nangang District of Haerbin City, was arrested after appealing in Beijing in early December 2000. Currently his whereabouts are unknown.
[Hengshui Area, Hebei Province] Tractors And Livestock, Owned by Dafa Practitioners Confiscated
Late in December 2000, the couples Tian Jinyue and Zhang Guizhen, Zhao Lianchen and Wang Xiuming, and another couple of practitioners were detained and brutally beat at Liuji Village, Gaozhuang Village of Jing County, Hengshui Area, Hebei Province. During their detention, the County Government, improperly and wrongly confiscated three tractors, livestock and food supplies from these practitioners' homes and farms.
Practitioners Zhang Guizhen, Wang Xiuming, and Ge Xiuli from Xiang Village were inexcusably and wrongfully sent to a labor camp. Their relatives did not even know where they were detained. Others were fined before they were released.
[Suixi County, Guangdong Province] Practitioners Detained and Heavily Fined
Practitioners in this county have been continuously appealing in Beijing since July 1999. By the end of December 2000, 26 practitioners had been sent to Sanshui Labor Re-education Center without any legal procedure. The county policemen fined practitioners who went to Beijing from 3,000 to 10,000 Yuan [US$350 to $1200, average monthly income is about $60]. They sealed practitioners' houses and took their pigs and cows away. Some practitioners were expelled from their jobs by their work units; some were not released until after more than four months of detention. In spite of this intensified persecution, practitioners still continue to go to Tiananmen Square and telling the truth to people. They have accomplished a great amount of work to safeguard Dafa.

[Shijingshan District, Beijing] Practitioner Wang Lijuan Taken Away by Police For Publishing Her "Solemn Statement" on the Minghui Net
Recently, practitioner Wang Lijuan was illegally taken away from her home by the police because she published a "solemn statement" on the Minghui Net to indicate that "all guarantees that she wrote under the brutal torture" were invalid.

More than 70 practitioners are detained in Xishanping Labor Re-education Camp at Beipei District, Chongqing City. The guards of the camp apply various measures to maltreat practitioners. For example, they stole for themselves 51 Yuan of the 96 Yuan monthly allowance for each practitioner; without having any reason, they often beat and abused practitioners. Sometimes they ordered common criminals to brutally beat practitioners.
They did not allow relatives to visit or write to practitioners. They forced practitioners to listen and watch the audio or video-tapes that viciously attack "Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truth, Compassion, Tolerance."

[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] 68-year -old Lady Sent to Labor Camp.
The Shijiazhuang City police sentenced a 68-year-old female practitioner to 2 years in a labor camp. Her name is Lu Suzhen. She lived in the Kinescope Factory dormitory. On the morning of January 1, 2000, she posted several placards which read "Falun Dafa is good" on the electricity poles. She was then caught by officers from the Tangu police station and detained for one month in Wuji County Detention Center. Afterwards, she was sentenced to 2 years of labor camp and sent to the Fifth Team at Shijiazhuang Labor Re-education Camp. Current circumstances are unknown
[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Detention Center Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners
The Second Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City persecuted practitioners. To suffocate the evils, practitioners refused to cooperate with their illegal suppression and mistreatment. They also refused to being interrogated or do forced labor, and they went on a hunger strike. Consequently, the Detention Center brutally tortured practitioners claiming they had violated the "rule of the prison." Practitioner Liu Tao was beaten and had his hands cuffed behind his back because he refused to be photographed for identification. Practitioners Chen Ji, Cui Shufang and Zhang Man were also handcuffed with their arms behind their backs for refusing to perform the forced labor and going on hunger strike.
They ordered the common criminal prisoners to beat and psychologically torture the practitioners. When the practitioners refused to perform the forced labor, the evil policewoman by the name of Zhang ordered all criminals to stop working and further ordered the criminals to read out loud articles that slandered Dafa. - In Baosheng Village, in the severe cold weather, the evil poured ice-cold water on Dafa practitioners being detained and had electric fans blow cold air on them.

- Every time after the unscrupulous police caught people and forced them into their vehicles, they would question and extort information to find out which practitioners had money at home. Then they would detain those practitioners who kept money at home for the purpose of fining them large sums of Yuan for their release and keep the money for themselves.
- An elderly lady, witnessing such an arrest scene asked the police the innocent question: "What did the Falun Gong practitioners do?" As a consequence, she was taken away together with the practitioners. She was released after negotiations and handing over 200 Yuan.
- Several hundred practitioners being arrested this time were detained in the courts that were secretly and surreptitiously set up in different villages and towns. They suffered all kinds of tortures and abuse. They have not been released till today. Those devils never went through any legal procedure, as required by law, when they arrested Dafa practitioners. They always arrested them in the dark of night.
[Laiyang City, Shandong Province] City Police Irrationally Arrested and Detained Dafa Practitioners Who, Though No Fault of Their Own, Were Forced to Leave Their Homes
Laiyang City police detained many Dafa practitioners for a long period of time in Detention Centers, [party name omitted] Party Schools and Veteran Cadre Activity Centers. In order to catch Dafa practitioners, who were forced to leave their homes, as soon as possible, the police even offered a big reward. They stated that anyone who could locate a Dafa practitioner would be rewarded with 5,000 Yuan.

[Yantai City, Shandong Province] Middle School Students Were Doubtful About the Lies
After the Spring Festival, all working units in Yantai City received yet another directive from "higher level of government" to study the "Self-Immolation Event" collectively. How could those people have brought gasoline to Beijing?" This led to a heated discussion in the class. The teacher's face became flushed and the teacher didn't know what to say.

On January 21, a distant relative of a practitioner (who has not been unable to stay at home for more than one year) visited his home from the Shijiazhuang Railway Sub-Bureau Office. He stayed for a long time. Finally, a family member of the practitioner questioned him whether he is a special agent. He finally told the truth. "I will be promoted and get rich if I can catch a Falun Gong practitioner." His assignment is to watch the passengers on the trains traveling between Shijiazhuang and Shanghai trains. He usually inquired around and tried to find any Falun Gong practitioner. Once a Falun Gong practitioner was identified, he would arrest the practitioner illegally. There are some other secret assignments for agents in the Shijiazhuang North Section. This is another crime conducted by the head monster, Jiang Zemin, in his persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners and the people.
