Validate the Fa with reason, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and offer people salvation with benevolence (Rationality)

Photo Report: Events in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, on January 18, 2001

Soon after, the police van came. The cops did not relent on the harmless old woman and continued to kick her. Pulling her by the arms and throwing her into the police van (As shown in Picture 6). The policemen even continued to beat her while she was in the van (As shown in Picture 7). Throughout this woman's turmoil she chose to forbear and did not retaliate at all following Falun Dafa's principles of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truth, Compassion, Forbearance). Just after this encounter, we witnesssed a heartening sight - Some Falun Dafa practitioners held up a banner in the northwest section of the Square. The banner was about one meter wide and 10 meters long. Policemen and plainclothes hurried in panic. Some practitioners cast truthful materials about Falun Dafa into the air. The wind blew the materials around, sending the policemen and plainclothes in haste to catch the flyers before they reached onlookers. Then they started to disperse the passersby and tourists and forbade people from coming close. This lasted for more than 20 minutes. The tourists couldn't help but comment to each other about the incident. Some condemned the police's ruthless actions. Plainclothes were quick to threaten them. Later these plainclothes gathered together to share opinions (As shown in Picture 8). Then they changed into dark brown coats and showed up in the Square again. Maybe they wanted to disguise their real identities and were afraid to be recognized!

(We felt sorry that we weren't able to take a picture of the banner because we were too far away. Another reason is that we were also tracked and tailed. In order to save the pictures we got, we had to leave the Square. The colors of the pictures were not bright; the film was underexposed because of the snow.)
