Not long ago, I was doing some business in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. One night I went to a grocery store to buy some food and happened to see a news report aired by a local TV station: a thief snatched a couple's wallet and ran away. The couple chased him and eventually caught him. They then took him to Erligang police station. To the couple's surprise, the police said the 6,000 yuan he had stolen was not enough to bring an accusation against the thief, and that they wouldn't prosecute. The couple was stunned yet they did not give up. They turned to the court and the prosecutor for help. However, the court, the police station and the prosecutor's office kept recommending the case to each other, never bringing charges against th theif. The couple finally gave up and let the thief go.

6000 yuan is about 10 months' income for a middle-class family in this city. Isn't it ridiculous that this amount of money is not enough to file an accusation? (Later a lawyer verified that 5,000 yuan is enough to bring a case)

There were a couple of people who were watching the news together with me in the grocery store that night and they had the following chat:

A: Why doesn't everyone practice Falun Gong since the government is so hopeless?

B: Nowadays the police only care about money. What if you give half of the 6000 yuan to him? He would rush to take care of this case.

C: Don't you notice that the neighborhood police have stopped patrolling and become traffic police? They don't prosecute thieves or robbers; instead, they catch drivers who violate the traffic rules in order to make money. They don't dare charge people who are rich and influential and they only ticket us cabdrivers. Once caught, you will be fined at least 200 yuan.

B: Speaking of Falun Gong, I don't believe they would set themselves on fire. We have some Falun Gong practitioners in our neighborhood and they are all good people.

D: CCTV has told tons of lies. It claimed that the government did not kill a single student in June 4 1989 yet my brother-in-law who was then in Tiananmen Square heard bullets flying over his head and saw many people ground to death under the tanks.

Practitioner (the author): In the past people would think of police when talking about catching the thief. Nowadays the people's police are not serving the people. To whom shall the victims turn for help? Who can we trust now?

C: It seems that the government is only capable of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. They said Falun Gong is anti-government. Have you ever seen a bunch of unarmed elderly people try to overthrow the government?

A: If Falun Gong were really "XX" as claimed, how many times would it have bombed Zhongnanhai (translator note: the Chinese government compound)? That religion in Japan that released poison gas is really an evil cult.

B: A practitioner in our neighborhood returned 10 yuan to the butcher who miscalculated his change. Do you want to know who is good person? This practitioner is!

A: It's not uncommon that the policemen go looking for prostitutes. We are clear in our hearts who are good and who are bad.

The opinions of the above people do not represent those of us Dafa practitioners however I was moved to tears that night. People's eyes are sharp and they will not be easily fooled!
