Practitioners from Maryland

[Clearwisdom net] In the afternoon of Jan. 28^th, 2001, the Chinese living abroad in the Washington DC area held a Spring Festival parade in chinatown. The mayor of Washington DC, the chairman of the city council committee, several congressmen and Cheng Jianren from the Taipei economic and cultural representative's office attended the event and made a speech for the coming new year. Local Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to join this activity. There were more than 50 practitioners participating. Meanwhile they prepared a great amount of Dafa materials. During the parade, practitioners demonstrated the exercises to an audience of several thousand. They also distributed the Dafa materials, flyers, newspapers and brochures. The audience cheered and applauded. Many people asked questions and requested information about Dafa.
