Police Illegally Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners in Macao

[Clearwisdom.net] On the afternoon of January 26, 2001, a dozen Falun Dafa practitioners promoted Falun Dafa and practiced the exercises at the seashore in Macao. The long coast looked broad, empty and harmonious. Many local people and Chinese tourists stopped to watch, inquiring and taking Dafa materials. Some tourists specifically asked for the "clearwisdom.net" web address as well as talked about how the internet is blocked and how hard it is to find out the truth about Falun Gong. Happiness filled their faces. At the moment the practice was almost finished, a plain-clothes policeman came to take the practitioners pictures again. They tried to stop him and pointed out the laws protecting civil rights in Macao. They told him what he did violated human rights. However, he persisted in taking the practitioner's pictures and wouldn't cooperate with them. Then this guy called the police on his cell phone. Four policemen came in a van and took all 7 practitioners, including 2 children (5 and 8 years old), to the police bureau. Some female practitioners resisted but were dragged by their arms and legs and were forced into the van.

At the police station, the police illegally searched the practitioners. The practitioners rebuked them: "What crime are you charging us with? Searching us without cause is violating human rights." While in this stalemate, the station chief heard about the situation and came to stop those policemen. Since it was his second time being arrested, the 5-year-old practitioner asked the policemen: "We are all good people, why did you take us here again?" The policemen felt embarrassed and ran out of words.

While the Falun Dafa practitioners were being detained without reason, many journalists heard about them and went to investigate. The practitioners were released after two hours. Whether it was under pressure from the media or public opinion that they released the practitioners is unknown? TV news from Hong Kong reported on the release.

On January 20, some practitioners had also given out materials and told the truth about Falun Dafa within the scope permitted by the laws in Macao. They had been arrested as well, but had been released not long after.

Cultivating ourselves in Dafa is not sin! Dafa practitioners are not criminals! Jiang Zemin presses the police in Macao to violate human rights and directly causes damage to the policy of "one state, two systems!"
