[Minghui Net] I'm the parent of Yang Jin who is a seventh grade student in No.1 Middle School of Sanhe City, Hebei province. My son has been expelled from the school as of now, solely because he refused to denounce his faith and persisted in practicing Falun Dafa. I want to make a detailed clarification regarding this matter, and I appeal to international human rights groups, education bureaus, and kind people around the world to pay attention to this issue.

Ever since certain leaders of the Chinese government made the wrong decision to severely persecute compassionate Falun Dafa practitioners, the practitioners of Sanhe City decided to use peaceful means to appeal to the government. Out of their love for Falun Dafa, young practitioners spontaneously joined us. Because the number of people who went to appeal kept increasing, the city officials and Office 610 [a bureau specially created for the purpose of suppressing Falun Gong] formed a pressure group. This group conducted a large campaign throughout the city to detain and "transform" Falun Dafa practitioners in order to stop them from appealing. Every single school in the city forced students to make confessions [their "realization" of Falun Dafa after being brainwashed]. Some teachers even forced students to curse Falun Dafa and Mr. Li Hongzhi [the founder of Falun Dafa]. Those who refused to follow these orders have been forced to go through "transformation." My son Yang Jin became one of the victims. Around December 20th, 2000, my son's school carried out the above campaign. Because my son felt that there was nothing wrong in the belief of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" and to be a good person with high moral standards, he courageously stepped forward to tell the truth about Falun Dafa. The school officials were very shocked by his actions. The teacher in charge of his class talked to him, followed by the dean of studies, the school principal, and the [party name omitted] Party secretary of the school, etc., all in an attempt to force him to change his mind. Yet he persevered in his faith. Later on the Party secretary of the school said: "This school is built and run by the Party, we won't allow people of [slanderous words omitted] and anti-revolutionists here!" So my son thought: "Isn't he hinting that they are going to expel me?" In order to keep his own faith and, at the same time, not bring any trouble to the school officials [school officials could be punished by China's central authorities for not successfully suppressing Falun Gong], he wrote a letter to them [to further clarify the truth of Falun Dafa; he may have said that he would rather quit school than stop practicing Falun Gong/translator]. As a result, he was expelled from the school. When the school is questioned about this, school officials declare that my son had voluntarily withdrawn, and they use this letter as the evidence.

While under political pressure of being labeled an "X cultist" and an "anti-revolutionist" by school officials, and facing the possibility of persecution, a 16-year-old child still shows consideration for the school officials; isn't he a person of high moral character? School officials, what do you think? Furthermore, I know that my son has never violated any school rules or regulations; he only wants to practice Falun Dafa and to become a good person of noble quality. It is truly unfair to expel such a good student from school. I cannot understand this. What is the school's real purpose of education?

I appeal to international human rights groups, every parent in the world, the education bureaus and all kind-hearted friends; please pay attention to this matter! Thank you!
