Fundamentally Clarifying

Jiang Zemin and his accomplices recently staged the self--immolation incident to make excuses to escalate the persecution of Falun Gong. Upon hearing this, my first reaction was that Jiang Zemin and his gang were fabricating, and we had to expose it. After the initial sinking feeling, I began to ponder anew on stratagem. Soon some ideas emerged, which were not confined by previous assumptions.

Throughout the persecution, Jiang Zemin and his cohorts have taken advantage of a shortcoming in our way of thinking, "once something has been proven bad, it can then be viciously attacked with impunity." Since the beginning, Jiang Zemin and his followers made up stories and broadcast them to demonize Falun Gong. They hoped people would believe in all their fabrications, and be misled to overlook the fundamental issue of the vicious persecution, and even assent to it.

If we got ensnarled by their ploy, we could end up with an endless struggle to unravel the lies and fabrications, while neglecting the important fact that "the persecution itself is fundamentally wrong." In fact, no matter how far the persecution goes, what people should always pay attention to are the unconstitutional banning of the peaceful exercises, the slandering of Falun Gong and its founder, the unlawful detention, beating, and torturing of practitioners to death. By focusing on the fundamental issue, we can use the facts and various means to help people see through it.

If we can hold firm to our stance based on Dafa (great laws and principles) and sharpen our focus on the essential, we would become better at exposing the evil, and clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. After knowing the truth, more people would join in to condemn Jiang Zemin and stop the persecution.
